See the image name? Looks odd doesn't it. Almost like a phone number. Hmmm what about back to front? it is a phone number. You can listen to some messages. They are mostly from users like you, but there is this one of a girl calling the owner. There is a news report in the background. Someone with sound skills could prob record that and make the background noise louder

someone get recording and uploading!! I don't like how this whole thing is tailored so much to Americans..i'm not gonna make an international call just to get a clue Sad

It asks you to leave a message when you call the number. If you hit # it asks for a code. Any ideas?

This tread needs to be locked and another one started. The last 5 pages have been nothing but trout. No one who hasn't been following along is going to read 40 pages. A new post with a summary of what has and hasn't been mentioned should be started.

does anyone else think that something maybe hidden on irusty.net i doubt someone would buy a domain just to say that unless someone with a lot of money (m$) would do that. I really think im on to something about the searching on newscientist.com read the headline:

Please stop posting about newscientist. It is not relevant to this challange or any other for that matter. It is Pure spec and Out of Game.

The sticker has a sentence on it, it says something along the lines of

I ____ ____ the da_ ___ ___ Rusty an_ ___ ____.

I doubt irusty.com has anything to do with this. Also domain names are about $3.99 so it's not a big deal to own one for no reason, i own several that have nothing o nthem for example.

Ok, I'm back in action. I got a good nights sleep, and even thought to decode this thing in my dreams (Clever use of time, eh? Very Happy )

Ok, first off... someone asked about that picture I posted toward the beginning of this incredibly long thread...

Here's the facts: Yesterday this challenge was posted, with a TON of issues. It was then quickly removed from OurColony.net. However, most of us already had the challenge image, so we started hashing out what we thought of it. Anyway, after refreshing the screen a hundred million times (like everyone else), I got frustrated. I decided I'd relogin. Now the coincedence is that when I did, gamem8ker was seemingly reposting the challenge at the same time.

Once again though, he posted it with some coding errors. I got a page that had something like this:

"solve /> "

Solve was a link, but (I'm a web programmer myself) it looked to also be a coding problem. Of course, I clicked the link. Which took me to gamem8ker's personal photo album on Yahoo. That image was there. So I got a copy. Why do I know this is real? Because it was a direct link from OurColony.net/Team/

However, yahoo didn't create a history record, and I even checked my Temp Internet folder to see if I had something there. All I have is the temp image file... no temp HTML document. Anyway, I don't know how to get back to his personal profile, but I CAN still get to his photo album... specifically this picture ONLY.

Can I PROVE any of this? Unfortunately no, but think of it what you will... I'm telling you the absolute truth.

Here's my best guess... that image is supposed to be our reward for solving this challenge, but due to a coding mishap, I got to it early. I suppose we'll see once we've solved this. For now, it's not IN GAME, because it doesn't directly relate to the challenge at hand. However, afterward we might see me saying "I told you so" Very Happy

Hmm, methinks this challenge is choke-full of red herrings. And that the solution might be in finding a connection between the previous challenges.

Isn't "knowledge" what we are supposed to be after?, well, it seems pretty obvious to me that it means we had to be learning something from the whole process.

Has anyone tried calling the number and putting in "play" as a code?

The code is 9999, we already found it. That is the default code.

I really doubt this is part of ourcolony..it seems too far fetched. But, just as a side note, can i point out that all the letters which are in CAP's are the letters used for the 4 bases of DNA...A, T, C and G.

Exulus, i agree. Newscientist.com is an established website that has been around for years. Also most of these articles can't even be fully comprehended without paying money. It is not in game. Peroid.

Hmm. Anyone else think the automated voice on that number sounds very much like Melissa from I Love Bees? Melissa was voiced by Kristen Rutherford... there are some samples from ILB on her site (www.kristenrutherford.com). I'm not sure I can tell the difference...

So is that phone number part of it? I can guarentee that the automated voice isn't Kristen Rutherford, because it's the same voice that's in my phone.

I listened to the messages and they all seemed so cryptic. No names, just short information.

The supposed AT&T lady left her email address, btsutherlandSPLAThotmail.com
It might be spelled differently, I don't know.

Then the next guy left his number, said to call him back. *baleeted*

Has anyone tried these? I hate calling numbers if I don't know who they are, but one of you more social people should try it.
