My name is Jim Prufrock and I have reason to believe that my
life is in danger. On September 17th I received a fax.
I have been investigating corruption and murder in a small
Nevada town called Push. If the criminal element believes
that killing me will derail my investigation, they will be
sorely mistaken as my death or disappearance should serve as
a clarion call to all who receive this e-mail to continue my
work and look into the dealings of D'Wight Sloman and
Watermark Consolidated both of whom, I believe, are behind
the Mystery of Push, Nevada.

Best Regards,

Jim Prufrock

Hey, SpaceBass, which search results group were you in to have been sent that email: university students, cable subscribers, or members of the AARP? ';-)

Seriously, any guesses as to which mailing list they used? I know I registered at The Push Times, because i recieved their 10/11 mailing for the "new edition" of the paper. I thought I had also registered at the Chamber of Commerce, but perhaps that was pre-launch. I've posted at least once on all of the Yahoo! and Netscape message boards. I even emailed *most* of the addresses posted in various spots on The Push Times.

Oh, i know, I could start a poll...

I didn't get an email either, but, judging from the episode, wasn't there supposed to be a graphic attachment to the email as well? The pictures Jimbo took of Shadrach's sculpture? If it WAS attached, can someone who was in That Special Group Of People That The PM's Like More Than The Rest Of Us post it here?

There was nothing attached.

To me, it's pretty obvious that they took email addys from the pushtimes or visitpush sites.

And i think it was done manually, as folks got emails over the course of a couple hours, as far as I can tell. I got mine well after midnight.

Nah, because I registered at both and have yet to get a single email. I think it may genuinely be a random subset of registrants, not necessarily all of us.

On the bright side, I am finding new ways to amuse myself with the clues that we DO have so far, since the main Push game is dying a slow death on the boards. Since I am easily bored, I devised a little game for myself. Anyone out there who has a Livejournal or other form of regular online diary-type thingy, I challenge you to try to write some sort of a coherent article or essay or rant on any topic, using what we've learned so far from the show. I just did mine using the Six Big Clues (well, plus Jimbo's reference to the casino paying out 62% of the time), but bonus points if you can cram in as many in-jokey references to the show as humanly possible. If you don't have a Livejournal, but wanna play anyway, you are welcome to write your essay as a commented response to mine.

Example at: http://www.livejournal.com/users/ozy_y2k (the 10/18/02 entry).

Will you take the "Push" challenge?

O
