The whole "scanning pages' source code" is a bit daunting for a n00b like me...

The only thing odd in the source is
Code:
ok to transmit this posting into <A href=/about/space.html>outer space</a><!--shootintospaceok-->
What exactly is this shoot into space thing? I think that this site is OOG for two reasons. First, it says they are looking for the cube and requesting key access. Second, somebody else obviously must have come across this, as I'm sure just about everyone has searched google for "receda".
But........they also say they are in or around perplex city. I'm searching for any other records of this space thingie "Craiglist".

craigslist is an online classifieds and is OOG
I think the "sending the message into space thing" is explained here...
http://london.craigslist.org/about/space.html
this thing seems OOG to me, but who the hell knows anymore

Well I've done a cursory search of the threads with london.craiglist.org and I can't find any ref: I whacked myself in the head when I saw the 1st post - I've never googled receda! I just kinda assumed someone else would have. I reckon it's a good find. It may be one of those little details that slipped under the groups radar. It seems to be timed for the Sentenal launch *checks* no, that was 21st march - this was put up on the 29th... meh see the domain info here http://www.whois.sc/craigslist.org

This rang a bell, and I did a quick search and found this post by leakingpen, although I can't quite work out the where craigslist came into the conversation. It sounds like one of the several attempts to set up forms of communication for IG characters. The date of the ad is a day after the above post and asking about keys makes it sound like it's one of us. Would leakingpen or someone else like to prove/disprove my theory?

Hmmm, I think someone else already posted this somewhere (though I'm supposed to be working right now so I don't have time to search). Either way, I'm sure I've seen it already. There's two likely possibilities:
1. the PMs set it up as another trailhead
2. a airmover set it up as another trailhead (and for a laugh - remember the cube on eBay?).
I'm leaning towards the latter since the user is asking for access to a key, implying that at the very least they're not a Perplex City resident. Anyway, the email address is itsatrapSPLATgmail.com if anyone wants to check....

the email address is leakingpen's check here
people *have* googled receda before, and this *has* come up somewhere before, i dont know where but i know i've seen it already and i'm not exactly the most in depth of researchers. craigslist is definitely out of game, leakingpen is a player, hopefully that'll be that but knowing what the forums are like at the moment we'll have another few pages or so discussing technicalities...
rach =)

craigslist ad This post was put up by someone on this form, trying to contact ingame characters to get a "key" for the sentinel.
I remember it being mentioned a long time ago.

the number means nothing. it's a number that appears on all craigslist.com posting.
and transmitting into space is something that craigslist is doing and the info on it is on the site as well. i can firmly state this has nothing to do with the game aside someone advertising and trying to get some more info.
