Water100 - rather than wait for the perfect timing for yourself, perhaps you can post instructions to the rest of us on how to fidn the rate for this hotel, and some of us might be willing to pay a bit more. I don't know how much you expect it to drop or anything, but that way we'll get maximum peoplage.

There's no instructions, really. All the prices I posted here are easily obtained by going to hotwire.com and searching for hotels in Chicago! You'll have to chose which areas of Chi. I'm using Chicago Loop, North Michigan Av, Mag Mile and O'Hare. Hotwire is pretty self-explanatory ... Give it a try.

And I'm not waiting for prices to drop anymore. Things have been a bit crazy at work, and as you can see on the news, ford is not doing very well, and contractors are always the first to go. Don't want to pay for a hotel room now and then find out I'm out of job or something ... I'll make a decision soon.

So, uh... hey buddy. Need a back seat driver? I'm good for some gas money. <wink>

Oh, that's a little over the top, don't you think?

Just drive during the day, and you'll be fine.

yeah, i'm looking for extremely "cheap-as-free" hotels right now too
i got a good quote on airfare from hotwire, 150 bucks round trip

but for the hotel, i'll def need a roommate. Incyr, you and Silrn still offering to cram in as many people in as you have floor space for?

Dang, that's a shame. Oh well, these things happen.

And Water10, I do hope you can make it.

Hivemeet: answer me this, crew member. Wanna go to dinner?

Vector, call the airline and tell them that you would like those vouchers, after all! Wink

OK, so I just spoke with someone at Ed Debevic's, and it looks like Friday evening she can certainly accomodate a party of our size, which looks be between 20 and 30, at this point.

Can I get some feedback in this thread on who can commit to this dinner?

Here's some more information, and I am thinking this will be around 7PM, on the 13th:
eddebevics.com wrote:
ALL AMERICAN MEAL - $11.95 Per person
Ed's idea of good ol' American fare. Your choice of a hamburger, cheeseburger, grilled chicken, grilled, or veggie burger, all served with fries. Enjoy our world's smallest sundae for dessert and keep the souvenir glass with our compliments.

THE ELVIS PACKAGE - $16.95 Per person
Ed made this one easy! Start out with two appetizer platters for your group. Choose from Kitchen Sink Nacho's, Cheese Quesadillas, Ed's Outrageous cheesy fries, atomic fries or onion rings. Then pick any entrée from Ed's regular menu and enjoy a shake, malt or dessert of your choice with your meal.
Not that hungry? Order the Elvis package without appetizers $15.95 per person

LITTLE EDDIE PACKAGE - $8.95 Per person (Not available Friday thru Sunday)
Each child can choose from one of the following kid's items, Hamburger Cheeseburger, Hot dog, Chicken fingers or Grilled Cheese. The little Eddie package also includes fries, a rice krispie treat and of course a world's smallest Sunday for dessert! Kid's get to keep the souvenir glass as a goodie prize!

PARTY FAVORS Ed remembers being a kid, so he sets the table with fun placemats, Crayons and balloons and Ed's hats!

ED SAYS "Don't even try to order this package if you aren't under 10 years old."
*2-forms of i.d. are required*

Ed's is a 50's-style restaurant where the waitstaff is in costume, and in character. They make real Cherry Cokes there, and have Green River as well. Their burgers and chili are good, and I personally like their malts quite a lot.

Please, report, crew members!

(And in case you don't take me seriously - it looks like I will need to put down my credit card for this reservation, so please be prudent about getting back to me, or you might very well be SOL on hanging out for dinner)

Ed's is here, by the by. Also, the Little Eddie package is not available to us, as much as we'd like it, but I liked the text, so I kept it in. Smile

Count me and Silrn in. Do we need to determine pricing? I mean, 2 appatizer platters won't really do for 30 people, I don't think....

I'll go in for dinner on Friday. An "authentic" 50's diner is not to be missed.

Can we "mix" the party? I know I won't be looking at an appetizer tray too closely at that point... (After this and Fogo, I'll be set for the weekend.)

-- Steve may just have to burn off those calories by using the stairs. (In the Sears Tower.) Or spend the week before fasting or something...

edit: Man, that's only a block away from the Fogo! Shocked Whoa...

I definitely think we can opt for the smaller package - trust me, you'll have plenty of food. I am sure we can also try to sneak in an appetizer if truly necessary, but I don't anticipate that being an issue, given their portion sizes.

And yes, I am sure many of us will be still loosening belts from Fogo de Chao ...

(yes, I am working on the website right now. why do you ask?)

I'll tell you something, if you guys happen to enjoy Fogo as much I enjoy, you'll be pretty full ... If we're having this party around 7:00, we should meet as early as possible for Fogo. Like around 12:00-12:30 maximum.

Is this place similar to Jack Rabbit Slims, from Pulp Fiction? Do they have a $5 dollars shake?
