Do you mean if an ARG contained a character from another ARG? (Cuz a character containing a character is either MPD or kinda gross )

Cuz there have been Merging ARG Experiences... (MARGEs) lol...

Synagoga & Wildfire Industries had characters that crossed over and such.

also, Strange Dreams and something else (sorry, I didn't play, so I don't know...)

But if instead of created solely for the purpose of merging, you mean for example: "In my ARG about space squirrels that are taking over the planet Peenutt, and one of the people who knows about it is my computer-hacking friend Kamal, who has the insight of being able to communicate to me from the future via his friends' time-crossing AI"? (And this squirrel ARG would be separate and not related to ILB other than the characters, right?)

Anyway, I think it's no good. I mean aside from getting authors' permission, it's just unbelievable. It's like "I don't have the ability to create new and interesting characters or plot, so I'll lean heavily on the work of others" which is just a cop out. (And even if your plot is fresh and inventive, it's still going to be perceived by players as an offshoot of the former ARG, not your own creation, so why do it?)

Anyway, I'm all for rememberance of past ARGs, and if it makes internal sense to have a character make a cameo, sure... why not. But if the stories are unrelated, and the characters don't have a right to be there, plot-wise, except for that it's "cool", then I think it's a bad idea. but then again, I am but one Dork, controlling vast Dork hordes... perhaps others with more tact and more skill with the English language will disagree with me and convince me otherwise.

Actually, there was a bit of joking spec about SD/Harbingers and WI/Syn merging after that, but I think that would have been just a bit much.
Not that I wouldn't have been honored to be a part of the WI/Syn phenomenon.

Gah, what I mean is, a lot of ARG's use AIM and Email as ways to contact players. What if one ARG character, to start a trailhead or whatnot, accidentaly contacts a character from another ARG? Now both ARG Charas think the other is a player. It would be an orgasm of cryptic messages and alphabet soup factory explosions.
