So if Friday will be happening in Greenwich should we maybe be looking for a webcam in the area? If there is one in the area, it would give us a definite location. And they used it before to give an event a large audience.

I've tried googling for greenwich park webcam and only found one that used to look out at the Millenium Dome.

The PC puzzles have yielded more than 1 group of solvers - meaning that some of us are further along than others. I believe this because of an email I received (from another player) after Abbey Rd, that at the time called for me to join a team of solvers. I felt I had little to gain by segregating secretly without the skills to back it up. There was no evidence presented whatsoever that segregation had already occured, but reading the Sentinel has changed my mind over the last weeks.

Zuh? OK, who's not playing nice and sharing their toys, huh? Smile

Seriously though, as I've already mentioned I think it's too early to start splitting the group - the more brains we have pointed at this, the better we're gonna manage.

And all this stuff about going to Greenwich; guys, calm the hell down. We have the most tenuous piece of evidence ever (and a much more obvious clue to stay right where we are) and you're all ready to flashmob the meridian? It all seems a little knee-jerk and hysterical. Let me introduce you to my friends Logic and Reason.

Oh, and that mention of a syzygy being spotted by someone at Greenwich - well, there is an observatory there, and I'm pretty sure Greenwich isn't the only place that such an astronomical event could be seen - probably yet another coincidence (or are we gonna chase down every location where a syzygy has ever been recorded?).

Essentially, what I'm trying to say (as nicely as I can) is please read that quote in my sig a few more times and think very carefully about what it means, huh?

I agree, I don't think there is a place on earth we are supposed to go. I'm expecting somehting along the lines of an e-mail or an update to Perplexcity.com or something along those lines at 3 PM Greenwhich time or whatever it is.

From the hiker's find:

"We do plan to send a team to examine the spot later this week."

Later this week = Friday? Clue as to a physical location for Friday's info?

I thought they couldn't travel between worlds - yet?

However, on the subject, after a little Googling for things like "archeology Greenwich London", I found things like this:

Quote:
The Fan Museum - Greenwich, London
The Fan Museum is a unique museum presenting the world's finest collection of antique and contemporary fans. The Museum is housed in a lovely Georgian period listed building in Greenwich, London -- Greenwich, United Kingdom

But I don't think a location is mentioned specifically enough. Worth bearing in mind though, should it turn out to be a physical meet.

Never mind... Didn't read carefully enough. Getting too anxious! (but also can't find the delete button!

Well, I'll be at work tomorrow afternoon - but able to make a mad dash by taxi to elsewhere in London should it come to that.

If it does come to that, I'll be armed with a mobile webcam - namely my laptop hooked up to GPRS from my phone. I'll add a forum post with a URL if that happens.

Charlotte's web

I guess I'm getting kinda anxious that the key to getting Friday's announcement is hidden in a copy of Charlotte's Web in some library somewhere...

I only found one copy checked in at East Greenwich library via web search (I'm half a world away...)

Let us try and put things back into perspective. Sente contacted us for help. If he wants to continue using us to help get the cube back, he will contact us. What we have gotten so far from Scarlett is bugger all, and anything in the futures would probably indicate a deeper level of mystery, if anything at all. We still haven't been given the main "in" for finding the cube yet. Maybe tomorrow. I doubt that everyone of us will miss it. We will all find out.

At the risk of being seen a a rat deserting a sinking ship, are there many other ARG forums? I only ask because the PMs surely aren't going to let us miss our only lead into the game. Are they? Confused

But if there are loads of forums about Perplex City then perhaps people there have cracked it andf are being all posessive of that info. Damn them! Razz

No, but really, if everyone missed this, can you imaging the Sentinel update?

"Sente's plan backfires miserably as none of the people of Earth saw his once-only address to them. Now we must live without the Cube forever. Thanks a bunch, Earth"

Then all the websites start being replaced with AOL adverts... Ugh...

Charlotte's web

Put more coherently (hopefully) my spec is this:

Front page Sentinel article says:
Quote:
Kiteway to address some form of communication to a large audience of Earth inhabitants on Friday, April 22, at 3:00pm in "the London time district."

Futures says:
Quote:
The Spider (April 11 - May 10)
Web's done, so take a time out. Get to the library and ask yourself, "What would Charlotte do?"

Much spec (which I agree with) reads this to mean a web communique from Kiteway. Charlotte would communicate via the web. My personal spec is that this will take the form of a cartoon ( Cool ) or mpg movie clip.

The rest of the future is a directive to find a postcard or other instruction in a copy of the book in a library. I spec that the instruction will be the web address for us to connect in to to get Kiteway's announcement.

If right, we risk missing the message by not checking the library...

But I'm not in a major metro area...aaaaarg! Cursing

Crikey! You could cut the atmosphere in here with a knife.

Just chill peeps! This ARG seems to be one that has been heavily sponsored by a large company somewhere, in the hope of advertising their product or service to a huge audience of ARG players around the world. Why would they allow us to miss such an important peice of info because we didn't solve a well hidden clue? This would mean losing potential customers at the end of the game, and not a very good marketing strategy by anyones standards. I'm pretty certain that we will all receive an email with the all the info we need to start making inroads into this thing.

All the build up was obviously a stalling tactic while the PM's get everything ready for the challenges to come. There may have been some background info we've learnt in these last few weeks that we need to take with us on our journey, but it's all archived in the WIKI and other places, so the reference is all there if we do need it.

The main thing to do now is not panic. Lets all take some deep breaths and count to ten before doing anything rash tomorrow.
