How do you think peoplevwill find out? an conformation e-mail or sudden arrival in the post?

Meh, just my feelings on it

Agree.... I mean it was very easy and all (not to say it wasn't fun )-- but just pondering. New to ARGs, but isn't the collective solve a cornerstone? There was all that spec the last few days about a group who had solved something and was furthur along <cough the number!>, then the PMs send out the first real puzzle that keeps us all from wanting to go with the group mentality (I'll be honest, I waited until after I submitted to post-- I mean, I'll admit I want to be in the 333 ), and have you noticed some silence by some of the rather regular and well known posters to this forum-- I mean really where has thebruce been?
Maybe we all need to keep the Cahil and other Mental Problem Solving as Atheltics and Competition stuff front and center--- GO MENTAL OLYMPICS!
lol.. anyway, it was a fun 30 minutes there from anticipation to solve

timing I submitted my code about 2mins after the launch of the page.
I think, given the general amount of people around this forum and so on that most of the people here will be lucky... at least everyone who put in their code within an hour or two of 3pm GMT. Good luck, anyway! I cant wait to see what random confusion my mind will be thrown into when this parcel arrives...

I was stuck at work with no apparent access to my e-mail when I remembered I could get MSN on my wap phone, so I got my e-mail and submitted my code at 3.54pm. I only hope the 333 don't end up getting loads of commercial samples and spam!

they have around 10K emails that were submitted to them(from the sentinel article) but there are alot of people that submitted multiple emails so i'm guessing at around 3K players...

i bet there were thousands of people who just put in their email address into Perplexcity.com after all the guardian ads/articles etc that publicized it, but haven't necessarily been following the sentinel/scarlett/ these forums since... a few of those lucky buggers will have got into the 333 just by luck if they got the email in time..... so the 333 places could easily have gone in the first 20 minutes or even less, I'd say.

well, for instance, I put 3 email addresses in the pxc.com box, as well as about 20-30 random words/characters over the past couple of months...so if they're just going by entries in a database....the estimate is probably a little high

the page is closed now. didn't matter much for me anyways, since 7+ hours later i finally get to see what's going on. and i STILL didn't get that riddle solved!!
but if <PSH> is right, then it's almost like playing the lottery...good luck to everyone who submitted. maybe someone can quell my anxiouty about knowing what the answer is soon.
