I'm sure it's based on IP. It showed me as the next town over... the town that my local cable office is.

It's probably based off of where either your IP or your mail server's IP is registered.
It's not really all that important though..
Possibly; it said London for me but that's not quite right. Can a site pick up your location from the interweb node you're on? Though I'm on Kent-MAN, which is literally based down the road at the university of Kent. So that doesn't explain why it said what it said really either.
But if I type in my own IP in McAfee's trace an attack program it return London...
[EDIT]Too too slow. Ah well... *sighs*[/EDIT]

The page said New York for me. I live in Northern California. Go figure.

AAAAAAAAH!! They're watching!
*Paulzilla dons tinfoil hat, and looks about furtively*
Seriously, that settles it, because it's still saying I'm in London and it lies.

EBAY BLOOMING TREASURE HUNT? DON'T TALK TO ME ABOUT THE EBAY BLOOMING TREASURE HUNT! I have F5 still on my finger from that somewhat annoying thing. I was #3 onto one of the pages
Anyway, the ip thingy got that I was a Uni of Warwick campus - we have our own IPs

Typing in my address was one of tha last things I did before going to work. Guess what happened - someone broke in and stole my laptop form my house.
Now, it doesn't take a genius to realize that Sente is a thief. (j/k)
Maybe it was that Santa joke I made yesterday. ANyway, if someone logs on as me, because I have automatic signup enabled, just tell them they are a liar and the cops are on the way.
So I guess I won't be able to update my website now.
Thanks for listening . . .

Aww, shit POTUS... I had my wallet stolen and £310 spent on my credit card at the end of last term - the police did nothing . Ah well, Barclaycard gave me my money back at least
Good luck with police/insurance

Call me cynical, but i bet the parcel will come from firebox as they have the resources to send them all
well i for one hope you are right - that way all the parcels will also contain a small bag of chewy sweets
(Michael Smith....if you are out there....the sweets idea really was a stroke of genius!)

Weird. The site had me pegged as being in the Bronx, and I am definitely not there. Not even close.
I know I'm not in (was at work and couldn't get to email till nearly three hours after the mail went out) but still. Maybe.

I doubt that all the parcels are unique, due to the fact that with 333 parcels being sent out from all over the globe, the chances of one being lost are high enough to worry about. That is probably where the number came from, I'm expecting 33 different parcels, or 66, or 99, or something like that.

Yeah, 2nd year chemical engineer. You?
Also, if the parcel does contain puzzle pieces as was originally speculated in this thread, how do we go about deciding who to send the pieces to in order to have them assembled? I know it sounds like I'm really jumping ahead, but I can imagine there being a lot of debate over who gets the pieces. Lot of time wasted before anything gets done.
Keep in mind I'm really new to this, so if this question is retarded don't be too harsh.
