[Outwit the West] New Game from Marlboro A friend of mine brought by this CD he received in the mail. It's called "Outwit the West" and only 100 teams can play. To qualify you have to call a # with a pin number that came with the CD. I'm trying to find out how people can get a CD of their own Teams are 4 people per team, there is 100 clues total.. solve all 100 and be the first of 10 teams to do so and you get to go on a trip to Marlboro ranch (wherever that is for 4 days/3 nights and ride horses, whitewater rafting etc) 9 teams will go home with memories... 1 team goes home with a million bucks.
Nothing googles up on it nor is there a www.marlboro.com website. Anyone heard of this?

I could only find a discussion here .
They say you have to be a smoker to play (???).

That is the wierdest board I've ever seen. Has a virus moved messages around so that completely unrelated messages appear in the same thread?
Sounds like Marlboro has been doing promotions like this for a long time; people win Marlboro trips periodically under different contests, which people on the board seem to be jumbling all into one.
And yes, at least one post said the rules provide all four team members must be smokers. Perhaps if we start now our teeth will yellow convincingly in time for the trip. And of course we can quit right after. Assuming we live that long.

one of the messages said:
I got my Outwit the West CD yesterday but it was cracked so I can't play it. Can anyone tell me if the pin number and times to call are on the CD or if they were shipped separate? I called 1-800-MARLBORO and explained what happened and they are going to ship me another one but he told me I was to call an 866 number on Aug 15-18 at noon mountain time with a pin number and I told him I didn't have it. He made it sound like I should have gotten one. I asked him if everyone on their list got the CD and he told me they were shipped to select few on their list. He said they sent 2.2 million (yes, MILLION!) CD-ROMs out and that is just a small portion of their mailing list.
So perhaps you could phone that number and ask about getting a disc.

Those poison-mongers I wouldn't want to participate in anything that Marlboro does. Smoke get's in your eyes.

Been there, done that. Got the scar tissue to prove it. Thanks, but no.
Further, I would be shocked if RJR or whoever makes Marlboro requires a purchase to play.

I've seen some contests created by cigarette companies that require that you be a smoker to play. I don't know how they'd prove whether or not you're a smoker though.

Marlboro is running a new contest, the mailings just went out this week, I didn't get one yet but I have delivered quite a few, just on my little route.
