Here's the Morse code, which is all the text that showed up in the file.

- .. -- . + - .-. .- ...- . .-..

I checked the document properties in Word and the only thing set was the author field which was marked as Freebie, but that could be nothing.

I've gone ahead and attached a hexdump of the file just in case something was hidden that way. I saw no message there, but I don't know that I'd know what to look for.

(I can post a screen grab as well, but as the morse code was the only content, figured that would be enough.)

i put the code backwards into a converter and got nothing that is of use to us. the letter that is shows aren't saying anything forwards or backwards. Can we rule it OOG?

I don't think a hex dump will yield much information apart from rich text 2.0 formatting tags. Opening it in a normal Memo object that takes text documents as-is will show the same thing.
Its quite difficult to add information to a file without corrupting unless you write the information to the end using a binary file stream (well thats one method).

The hex dump is basically what I was seeing since I opened the document in notepad.

WordPad is still screwed on my PC so I never really got to see what the original looked like.

Just a thought, we've had TIME + TRAVEL and INVISIBILITY in more code.... Three elements anybody?

Those appear to be the result; not the means to the end. Saying that, they are not just random words. They actually have relevence as shown by the phili experiment.
I am, however, overly sceptical about these messages. As has been mentioned above, we have not ruled out OOG. This game has been rife with OOGs at some point or another feeling it necessary, nay, their duty to lead us around in red herrings and logic traps in the interests of, what I can only fathom being, comedy. Ergo, I will not treat these messages too seriously until there is more hard evidence to prove otherwise.

Just googled 'time travel' 'invisibilty' 'mind control' and surprise, surprise, just about all the results on the first few pages refer to the Montauk experiment.....looks like this could be the first really useful update we've had in a while, although it'll need some serious digging.
