Interesting how many players people think there are...I would certainly say less than 3000 that was specced above, but more than 333. Hmmm...
thats where i find my small hope. it seems like 333 people would get it right away, but not even 150 replied to this thread saying they did! which means that there would have to be 200 lurkers/people who forgot/other forums that answered it. so it might be close.
and even if a few hundred people signed up a long time ago and forgot about it until they got an email today, there's a pretty good chance that a bunch of them read it and gave up right away?
you can tell i really want that parcel, just trying to convince myself theres a chance

I submitted my answer at about 11:15am US central time. (I think that was maybe an hour and a half after the site to submit the answer went live). I'm not getting my hopes up for getting anything, so that way if I do it will be a pleasant surprise.

Just to let y'all know, because you're hugely interested, that little old me sent my mail off to wonderland for my fist of fun too.
Just as an aside I assume 333 people are chosen because there are only 3 complete cubes visible on the logo and each one on them inturn is mathematically cubed, if you get my gist. I guess its just nice to have a pretty looking number too, where are David Shepard and Graham Gooch when you need them?
Oh and for all you number crunching freaks out there I did it at about 15.52 same day. Ta

Oh. Right.
I sent mine in around 4:30 EST(-5:00 UTC) yesterday.

Ya know, I got to thinking about it, and I actually had submitted from work earlier in the day, and then checked when I got home to see if it was still open. So, I guess my memory sucks and I really don't remember if it was still accepting then or not.[/i]

To be honest, I thought it was so easy that I'd not be a smart-arse and tell everyone, but let people work it out for themselves?
Meh, just my feelings on it

Absolutely agree. It's not like if you're really stuck you cant find out the solution, but it wasn't that tricky to solve and it was a lot more fun to try to take the challenge yourself. OK, so of course we all had a vested interest in keeping the solution to ourselves because we all want to be even more involved but that doesn't mean people were excluded - there's a fair number of new players who've shown up in the wake of this and were able to get their solutions submitted.
Ultimately, I think it's better that we were holding our cards a little closer to our chests than normal because it made things more fun and it means we care more about the game in the long run.
And besides, it seems like everyone's willing to share details anyway, so it's not like people who don't get a parcel are gonna completely miss out.

Yeh, I was a bit glad people didn't go shouting the answer in the streets immediatly. It was simple enough to solve and gave those who've not seen something like this a taste of what's to come. Of course, someone did post the solution on the boards without spoiler tags initially after about 30 minutes, and someone spouted the answer off in IRC... Over all though, I don't think it will negativly effect the community in anyway.

Hee - my brain vapour locked for about 3 mins until 'Pea' lept out at me, after that it was simple. For the record, my email arrived about 10 mins after the first person on IRC said they had theirs - took me all of 90 secs to do the rest.

I was that idiot (forums, not IRC)... sorry... I should have spoilered, but I did not. Forgive me please. It's not my usual style, but I wanted to ensure that as many unfictioners got parcels as possible. But I did spoiler and request a spoiler or delete of my previous posting within a minute of my first post... But again, it was bad form, and I do apologize. I should have known better.
