Holy crap, I never knew it was so easy.

So what do you guys think we have to do next? I'm wondering if we're supposed to try and get into those people's accounts, or if they just want us to wait.

Hey,

I've been out for a while; I didn't see your messages earlier. As a matter of fact, I used the same site for decoding: http://nickciske.com/tools/binary.php

I'm glad I didn't miss any new developments, but kinda dissapointed, too. Oh well, I need some sleep, talk to you guys tomorrow.

looks like a cryptogram, well except for the numbers. But i cant find a solution to it if it is.

Have the others been encrpyted in french? Not sure of any english sentence that would end in a 1 letter word.

EDIT: The more i look at it the more it looks like a cipher. Since they are written in blocks of 5 letters. I've tried every cipher type i can think of but none seem to translate to anything.

The number could be the date, 04/10/05.

It looks to me like a seriated cipher or a Vic cipher but no joy yet.

Indeed. I tried all the things I know, yet nothing came up. Crying or Very sad

Oh well, I need to go to class.

I've tried not using a key, and only unscrambling some letters. Here are some (possibly) relevant words:

BANK
NEVER
WAS

This is just a shot in the dark, though.. Maybe it needs to be reordered, with, say, the 'X' as a space.

On the other hand, the fact that there's a stray 'X' there implies to me a different grouping if it's a cipher, say groups of 4 or 8, and in this case, I would tend to agree that it's a possible playfair (seriated or not) cipher.

I tried using "Le Marais" as the key, but no luck..

I think it must be a cipher because they're all in groups of 5. It's highly unlikely that they could make a sentence of any relevance if they only use 5 letter words.

The X probably plays a significant part in solving it.

Me and a work colleague have been looking at this today, we think it may be a double playfair cipher (due to the x's being used to fill) and the keys may be walter hamil + either m k patig or Jerry Macstern.

But i've been unable to locate a playfair decrypter that doesn't need downloading and won't be home for hours yet.

But of course we may be completely wrong. Very Happy Very Happy

Wow, nice applet there. It has too many ciphers! I don't even know where to begin with it. Smile

Is it actually possible to do it by hand? How does one learn that?
