You can't be serious .... "Darth Vader, Rise"!

Oh. Heh.

I was thinking in gaming terms, not in everything else terms.

I'd be up for battlefront though, if people have copies of it.

I know at least me and CirrusStrafe have it.

I think SkyBruin does too. Never got around to asking everyone, since it had the unfortunate timing of being released a month BEFORE Halo 2.

I like exploring and everything. But 1 game with a few people works pretty well. For example, I was exploring Turf with Grifter and Ubercado for a while and we found some weapons spawn points, I got killed by a spawning hog right on top of me Laughing , and gained some experience on the layout. Then we started a game of oddball with only 4 guys. Just a casual, no worries game. It helped to learn how to use parts of the map during combat situation.

In last weeks training (8 PM EST) we played team slayer with unlimited kills on a map. It was small teams. Because of all of these factors, I belive map awareness and teamwork started to develop in usable doses. I think for this week's Training (8pm EST) we may do the same thing for new maps, but with an objective based game like Crazy king. Thoughts anyone?[/b]

You might sux0rs on the sword cancel, because it doesn't exist anymore. (oh, wait, you probably just mean the cancel. lunging is out, though. sadly.)

The scope/lunge is out, but you can still exploit the straight lunge... I saw a half-dozen people arrange crates on Turf so that you could sword cancel at someone in mid-jump and lunge right past him to end up on the Scarab's leg. However, I'm just not quick enough on the "cancel" part and end up skewering the poor jumping volunteer.

-- Steve knows how hard it is to just explore in a group, with all those tempting, tempting explody things lying around.... *whoosh* ka-BLAM!

Might I suggest Oddball. As Waters was saying it really helps to learn the maps because everyone is running around and you have an Arrow to show you where the person is. After doing a couple of rounds of Oddball try turning the ball indicator off. It turns into a hide and seek of a sorts and you get to see how well you learned the maps.

I had a great time with everyone yesterday exploring the maps and playing some really good, fun games. Although, I have to admit that I was getting pretty upset with a certain someone in a certain vehicle...so, if I came across as a bit gruff I appologize. I know that we are all out to have fun and trying to learn new strats on the new maps but sometimes we all take the competiveness a bit too far and it seems to ruin it for everyone else. I include myself in the above statement.

I wasn't ignoring anyone last night, my mike on my headset broke off and I could hear the conversations but, couldn't respond...bought a new headset today so all is good...

Of all the new maps, I seem to like Turf the most. Warlock is fun and so is Containment although the Tank is a bit TOO powerful on there...Sanctuary is visually a beautiful map but I have to admit, the sniper, is a bit too much on it. Especially, when you can just sit back in the base and snipe right down the middle of the map...

I think that most of these maps are well suited to Oddball, KOTH, and Slayer...the notable exception of Containment of course witch is well suited for CTF and Assault....

Just one persons thoughts on the new maps...

Wish I could have joined in with you guys last night but I did have a great time just wandering around the new maps and trying to get to know them. I think Containment will be great for BTB games of CTF or assault as there are so many different ways to attack the bases. If by some miracle Bungie is able to increase the player limit to 15-20 per side, this map would be perfect. One of the nice things about it now is that the bases are large enough that it is conceivable that the sniper could actually become an offensive weapon within a base.
Sanctuary and Turf look great for mid to large teams or slayer games while I find Warlock to be a little dark and more conducive to small teams or Oddball and territories type games (like Midship). I should be on tonight so hopefully I'll see some of you online. Smile

Which is why I am LOVING being Lil' Miss Flag Defender with the constantly re-spawning Brute Shot. It's like a sniper, but messier and louder, and mmmmm, it is nice. I have a few favorite spots inside the base already, to pick off various inlets to the flag area.

As for the topic of the mystery people:
If I already have a party started and I get an invite to another party, I usually ask if I can bring my whole party or not. (I say usually because sometimes I don't want to bring anyone from my party, so in those cases I'll make someone else party leader and accept the invite by myself).

In any case the people that I bring into the party will always be pre-certified "Non-poopy heads". These include Kerouac66, Uber Tim23, and RAPTOR CARNAGE. They may not be the best players but they are definitely fun to play with and non-annoying.

Yes, oddball is the best, cause you have to search all over the map. But it can't be with too many guys, otherwise you just get killed a ton of times!

I always loved invisiball on warlock (now wizard). Much fun-ness.

Oddball
Carrier=invisible
Carrier=slow
Carrier=hard to kill
Motion Detector=ON
Rockets & 'nades rule

It's more fun than you'd think

I have it (though if I had not bought a GameFly membership recently it would have been traded in long ago). I'll Play it with you all, even though I'm not excited about the movie and not willing to pay to see another one of those. It will make a nice lead-in to my Clone Wars Marathon I'm showing as an alternitive for the "won't get fooled again" crowd. P)

Did anyone ever think the Brute Shot would get this much love? I would love to be defending a base with Krystyn when she kills someone with the Brute Shot knowing that while they are waiting to respawn they have to look at their decimated body and listen to a giggly spartan. Laughing Brings back good memories of Chariots of Fire on Coagulation and the early days when Krystyn would kill you and then apologize as she ran off to her next target.
