So, what happened in December? I looked at the old wiki a bit but didn't see anything notable.

digging up the past

12/10/03 we have the wild card game commiting a crime. Maybe it was the event that lost belle her body.

Quote:
//Captured during field examination of Pottsville on 12/10/03 by SpyBot001201
//RUNNING FILE transcripts/wild_card_gang/deal.txt
//Jack_Of_Spades (Hereby referred to as Spade): I'm bored!
//Queen_Of_Hearts (Hereby referred to as Heart): So? Why should I care.Go get a six pack and pass out on the couch.
//Queen_Of_Diamonds (Hereby reffered to as Diamond): Yeah, get 4 six packs, and make it snappy.
//Spade: What, am I your slave? Your 4 of hearts? I think not. Get it yourself.
//Heart: You said you were bored, so make yourself useful.
//Spade: Just because I said I was bored, doesn't mean I'm going to make myself useful.
//Diamond: Hrmph. I was looking forward to them too.
//Heart: Do you think about anything else other thank drinking?
//Diamond: Jewlery.
//Heart: And besides that?
//Diamond: Men.
//Heart rolls her eyes
//Diamond: What do you want from me? Not like you like anything else.
//Heart: Hey, I like plenty of other things!
//Diamond: Like what?
//Heart: TV.
//Diamond: Everyone likes TV.
//Heart: Ooohhh..... How about this?
//Diamond: Do I hear a deal coming on?
//Heart: I think you do.
//Diamond: OH! OH! A DEAL! I LOVE DEALS!
//Heart: How about I help you go knock off Murphy Jewlers on Centre Street,
and you help me knock off the candy shop, and we'll call it even and drop the conversation.
//Diamond: I dunno... you're getting 2 things for the price of one.
//Heart: I'm getting candy and a dropped conversation. You're getting expensive jewlery to add to your collection!
//Diamond: Fine... deal.
//Heart: Let's go.

Cell Log File #3466778- READING DATA>>>>cell3222/belle/blindsightOS/history/diary1.txt

My codename is Belle, and I've been with section 32 for 2 years. Pretty much since the beginning of the organization. I'm going to be keeping this diary inside my operating system, to log the activity of the organization and my own activity.... I guess so I can look back on this and laugh... Although I'm not laughing now.

The others can at least say that they're human still. All they do is wear their metallic armor and change appearence when they call their crystal... but I just don't do that anymore.....................

I still can't believe it happened, and what's even worse is that I can't believe I'm standing here. All I remember is Deuce's energy blast coming at my head and my eyes going wide. And then my memory fades in and out between pain, torment, lasers, metal, and burning flesh. And when it was all over, I awoke like it was a bad dream, and I was lying in bed at base.

I looked the same, I talked the same, but I didn't feel the same. Secondly, there was not even a single scratch on my body. Medic is a good healer, but she still leaves some error. But I had none. I was flawless. That's when Strike and Slash came to the door.

"You ok, Lauren?" Slash asked me, her green eyes looking extremely concerned. I replied that I felt ok, just weird. "We... we rebuilt you... You were dead...." Strike's green eyes looked everly saddened now too, even though he was usually the very prim and proper and unfeeling one of the leadership den.

"What?" I asked. "What do you mean you rebuilt me?" Strike's face really really cringed up now, like he was going to cry. He unsheathed his sword, walked towards me, and in the fastest motionI've ever seen, he slit my right wrist.

No blood came gushing out. Instead, just a couple of wires poked out and sparked a little and I couldn't feel my hand anymore. It was like someone disconnected it. Strike passed his hand back over the cut, and the wires quickly reforged themselves, the skin sealed up and I could feel my hand again.

"We tried to save as much of your body as we could... but the damages were extensive... So, we transplanted your brain into a robot body that the girls built with Slash's help... And... well... here you are. I don't know what to tell you...."

I sat there, and I cried...... but no tears came down. Slash and Strike sat next to me in my bed, and Jessica, Rose and Signal came in to comfort me as well, but it was no use...

that would explain this echo

Quote:
HydroBlast: So Belle...
Brain\Storm: Razz
Belle: Would you stop calling me that.
HydroBlast: Why? I mean.... really. It's your name.
Belle: Do you see a dress? Do you see a beret? Do you see a metal arm plasma cannon?
HydroBlast: Um.... no...
Belle: THEN DON'T CALL ME BELLE!!
HydroBlast: ...geez... sorry... what's up your ass today...
Belle: Gears! Wires! Lack of flesh! That's what's up my ass!
Belle: I'M NOT HUMAN LIKE YOU ANYMORE!!! BELLE STOLE MY HUMANITY!!
HydroBlast: Lauren...
Belle: Just shut up Bryan! Just shut up!

I dunno, IIRC Deuce was neither the queen of hearts nor diamonds, and the implication of the december conversation is that the queens were the only ones involved in that little spree. Maybe though.

Google sez:

December 7th was Pearl Harbor. There's a famous WWII poster with the phrase "Remember December 7th" on it.

There's a song by the band Cage 9 called "Remember December". lyrics seem vaguely appropriate but there's no glaring links to anything.

There are quite a few songs with "Remember December" in the lyrics. Cage9 was one of the artist, Damien Rice is another, and that's not counting some hip-hop stuff.

Which year? Decemeber of last year (2004) returned "Worlds Aids Day". And that didn't work.

Did anything happen with project gateway in December? I looked on the cc32 convo logs, and nothing of that sort turned up (but then again, I only looked in this forum). If gatecrasher is the password for "candleandmatches", then I wonder what it will be for "rememberdecember"...

The original ended in november, so it can't be a reference to something that actually hapened in the previous game.

Randomeis was suggesting the song isn't actually the one by the band (ie, wrong name/band for the music)

I'm under linux, so I don't have mediaplayer. The following seems to be a link to a preview of the song.

http://www.primetones.com/playfile.asp?PID=1949&MID=39445&GenreID=951&File_Ext=mp3&SearchFileType=15&SingPlay=

Can anyone tell us if this matches?

Also, I was wondering if the ID3 tags were ok - if you open the file in a text editor, there's some ID3 data, but none of my mp3 players can understand it. Is that the case for everyone?

-----------------

looking at http://www.freedb.org for that band, the song time turns out to be 3:37, which has nothing to do with the 2:05 of the file (and the song does seem to finish) - looks like randomeis was right after all! good call Very Happy

Again with stuff buried in the file. Straight text this time.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Look, we didn't mean for any of this to happen. But if you're reading this, well, something happened. We don't
know what, but something must have happened, because you're reading this. ANd you're in another dimension, and
we're in ours, and they don't collide well... and stuff... and you know! I won't harp on this. If something goe
s... funky... besides this... you can call us. There's a file I left in here called "helpbutton" just press that
, and we'll come to you ASAP . Ok? Ok, glad that's all ok now. And... um... don't die. Sincerely, CyberStrike
