Mail from Dale - Aug. 13

Quote:
Hi,
It's Dale. Sorry it's been a few days since my last message but I've been very busy with a lot of things, not the least of which was getting the Turing
Principle data and programs copied over to the mythperception domain. The program seems to be developing itself in ways Peter Fishwycke never anticipated or is completely comfortable with, so I was concerned that he might "pull the plug" before the program had a chance to mine any more relevant data for us and come to any more valuable conclusions. Hopefully I've eliminated that possibility by relocating the main interface for TuringPrinciple onto my server along with a great deal of the data TuringPrinciple has accumulated.

Unfortunately, the entire Answer Project system requires the networked system of supercomputers and special software that Peter has developed, so I've had to leave TuringPrinciple with access to the TAP network but I've done it in such way that hopefully will go undetected for a while. It will require TuringPrinciple to still go offline once and a while, though, as it switches ports to avoid security scans.

I've also got two new interfaces almost complete to allow more people to interact with the TuringPrinciple program. I know that some people don't use the same instant messaging program TuringPrinciple has been using so I've developed a web-based Java interface that eliminates the need for AIM but still interacts with TuringPrinciple's logic and personality routines. You can find it at:

http://www.mythperception.com/orpheus/tpchat.html

You'll still need the username and password I gave you before for that area. It's "orpheus" and "channel8", respectively. This interface may not be available all the time though, because I am still fine tuning it. I also decided to go ahead and integrate the Human Interface Program I was developing with the TuringPrinciple system to give it a more human aspect to deal with. For some reason, this seemed very important to the "personality" that seems to be developing within the system so I thought it might help. That will be complete very soon.

Don't worry though, I haven't been ignoring everything else going on. Wes, Sam, and I and a few of my friends and helpers online have been working on plans to get Tracie Schmidt away from Don Marzano and his people. Yes, he is the one who is holding her. I did receive a couple of messages from him about her, like I said in my last message to you. He is using her as "insurance" that I do what he wants and threatening to kill her if I don't deliver the Wish to him very soon. He has also indicated he will have it done in such a way that it would implicate me in her death, as well as the deaths of Doug Willingham and Sal Marzano. Since I am already under suspicion in those cases because of my meetings with them that day, it probably wouldn't be too hard for him to do. One bit of good news: We are pretty certain we know where she is, thanks to some information both TuringPrinciple and I have come up with. I am just waiting for confirmation from one of my sources who is still close to the Marzano clan. Once I get that we move.

I still have not heard back from the manuscript guy, Colin Penrose, after those last two desperate e-mails. He did, however, send me a package care of the Aglaura Municipal Building that Sam retrieved and forwarded to me. I am very hesitant to hold on to what he sent me though, especially since some of the plans I have in mind involve potential capture by either the Don and his boys or the "dead eyes". I certainly don't want to hand-deliver what Penrose sent me to either of those groups. So I've made other arrangements. I pray to God I don't endanger any more people by doing so, but I don't really have a choice.

Speaking of the "dead eyes" - I'm sure by now you've learned that another name for them is 3-0-7, which seems based on that French book Wes was pointing us towards a while ago, but also seems to have traces throughout history, even before that book. They seem to have an agenda and purpose all their own, despite apparently cooperating with the Marzanos at times throughout this whole affair. In fact, my last few communications with Sal Marzano before his death lead me to believe that he didn't agree with his father's temporary alliance with 3-0-7 and that he didn't trust or feel comfortable in dealing with them. He also implied that Don may have only been using the 3-0-7 for his own purposes without their knowledge. I still am not really certain of any of it, but I am positive of one thing. The 3-0-7 are merely servants, a front for the real people behind their actions. The website TuringPrinciple found, www.three-o-seven.com pretty much confirms this. I've attempted to correspond with whoever is behind that site, using my mythperception e-mail addresses so as not to expose anything I discover to the unfriendly eyes that seem to be now reading the incoming e-mail for the daleSPLATsynthasia.com address. I will let you know what I hear back from them, if anything.

I've also been simultaneously trying to work may way through the latest test by Digitalis and the mythosphere guides. They seem determined to evaluate various aspects of myself and others through these tests before they will reveal any more information to us. I really don't trust them any more than I do the 3-0-7 or even Don Marzano but they have promised some answers at the end of this trial so I'm praying it will all be worth it soon. They, like the 3-0-7, seem to only be a facade for a deeper mystery or secret group hidden behind them. Have you had any more luck than me in interacting with them or getting answers out of them?

This e-mail has already gone on longer than I intended and I still have a lot to cover with you. I will try my hardest to make sure I send you another one very soon, as I feel somehow it's critical for us all to stay in constant contact from here on out. I've come to understand and accept that I cannot do this alone and that I need to rely on each and every person trying to help me. I wouldn't be as far as I am without the constant help, encouragement, and belief from everyone. It's awakened something in me I haven't felt in a long time. So, from the bottom of my heart, thank you.

I will be in touch.

Dale

Didn't notice it before, but you are right.. It is a link.
Hotmail seems to be running interference with my attempts to see where it leads though. Sad

I have a hunch...
/me gets out the sauce pan for all the tomatos I am about to get... should have enough to feed the army od darkness soon...

It has been TWO days since I sent an e-mail in regards to the grandson prompt...
and a day since I resent it yesterday.

Perhaps... there is active interferance on getting the link to work, not hotmail's fault?

Let me try forwarding the message to my other account and see if that resolves the problem....

Question

I think that what she's trying to say is, that the problem isn't hotmail's, but the other end.. That something is kaput there... Though that is kinda gainsayed by what Kona got. Hmm..

Anyone get their e-mails through another way?? AOL, regular Outlook, another freemail account??

Question: is it possible to mark something as a link that doesn't go anywhere... i.e. hoping to make the perpetrators think they have been discovered and force them to go check on her?

/me pushes the pulp detective novels behind the monitor....

But why??
I've had the word news in hotmail messages before, far shorter mails so easier to notice, and they don't show up as links there
