I just took a bunch of pictures to send to Nisha... The first batch I hated, because I hate myself. Smile

The second batch may very well the pest pictures taken of me since I was in my teens.

Yeah, when she said to send a photo, I wasn't sure what to send -- I'm usually the one taking the photos. Luckily, I built myself a new ring light and to test it out, I took a photo of myself which worked.

And I see nothing wrong with that 2nd batch. Wink

Yeah, the true test is, will people be able to recognise me by them. Very Happy

I'll figure out a way to wear the hat...

Heheh, just wear the hat with a bulls-eye on it... then we'll know it's you.

And since knowledge can be power, here are some quick links to bone up on your A3 knowledge:

AudiUSA.com
page

And a review of the car

And a link to the Treo 650 user manual

Also, I suggested this to Jane in IRC, that since it looks like there's a stage set-up at the afterparty location, and based on Ian's find about the company putting on the party, earplugs might be a good idea should a loud band start playing... this isn't really something related to the op, but just a good safety thing. Very Happy

Okay so the schedule I posted at StolenA3 I got from a friend and he only listed the bands HE is interested in... Razz

Here's the official tentative schedule
http://coachella.com/times.html

Since they're mentioned by Nisha and Todd... I suggest we hook up at Secret Machines' set if all else fails... Yes? No?

I posted the suggestion on stolena3 so "Laura" can see it.

Where do they mention Secret Machines?

That sounds good... if they named it, we should be there.

The schedule page keeps crashing, I think everyone is checking it out.

I hope they're not opposite the K-Os O-o

they're on much later then the K-os. Which I may have talked my friends into seeing. (The K-os that is. They were alread interested in Secret Machine... Though we'll have to cut out halfway through Weezer's set to see them.)

Nisha has them in her music folder. Todd also mentions them in the "Coachella Team" thread at the StolenA3 boards.

So what is the story of the cluster f*** that went on.

I tried to get on the live feed and it didn't connect. So I figured maybe it isn't working on apple them I boot a microsoft system and is not working on it either. I try a few more times on both and finally I get a feed with static shot of a car in a tent area with no audio. Then in few minutes it starts switching to other shots witout audio. Finally get some audio them everything get aborted.

Okay, I'll give it a shot... I'm just going to type this in, not spell check it or edit it or any thing. So pardon my poor spelling. Smile Here is my online photo album.

Most of us had difficulty getting there on time. Luckly Myke was in contact with us and knew that we were stuck in traffic. I felt bad that he was standing in the sun waiting for us. ((Why do they always have these things where the roads are so crappy?))

I normally don't go to conserts or music festivles like Coachella... And every time I go to one, I am reminded of why I don't go to conserts and music festivles. Appart from that, I proceded to have a great time with my friends who already had tickets, and I got to spend more time with Jane, and I got to meet some new cool people as well. All and all, dispite difficultys, I do aprecate Ian and Nisha getting us into Coachella early so we could enjoy the music before the op.

Halfway through Weezer, I took my leave of my friends to go meet the other Retrievers at Secret Machine. My friends were going to join me there after a few more songs. Ran in to Jane and Kiyash at Secret Machine, after text messaging my friends to say at Weezer if they wanted because I was "on a mission", we went looking for SMG3er and Laura.

Long story short... (To late) We find them, introduce ourselves and begin trying to figure out where the party is supposed to be in the time left before we were supposed to meet Myke at the Tesla Coil (of which I got some great shots and Kiyash got some video of.) Bauhaus is playing on the mainstage at this time, which is unfortunate, I ran into my friends again while skulking around the fence that kept people a safe distance from the Tesla coil. We all get back together in a group at 10, but no Myke. This is when we start becoming suspisious of poor Myke. We begin comparing notes on what he did and said that morning when we got our tickets for him. The only matching part of each story was that what appeared to be the same guy, had given the tickets and said to meet at the Tesla Coil at 10. Most everything else was different. Laura was saying that he had taken her picture, but he hadn't taken anybody elses. Personally, I think he just thought she was cute.

We group back up and wait. A little after 10, Jane gets a text message that there's been a change of plans and to meet at the Fire Shooter. Which was this big, metal sculpture that... Well... Shoots fire on the other side of the grounds. So we book it over there and Myke's waiting for us.

He gave us these rainbow wristbands and said to follow him, to try to keep up becuase things were "going to get crazy", and if anybody were to get seperated that they should go wait at the PSP tent to be picked up.

((What we didn't know at this time was the URBS magazine had handed out 200 passes to the party that were no good. And they had a large group of people who were angry they were not going to get in and see the bands that were playing. Fights over it broke out. What THEY didn't know was that this mob was not infront of the actual party venue, but had been herded to some other location on the consert grounds. ))

Myke then took us on a merry romp through every possible wrong exit. At each stop he would be stopped by the guard and he would hold up his wristband which was just like ours. The guard would shake his head and the Retriever Train would take off again.

At first I thought perhaps the idea was that somebody was following us and Myke wanted to loose them and stall for time so we wouldn't lead them to Nisha. After a while it became clear that he was trying to stall and loose US. This turned mildy suspisious into full blown suspisious. During this time Laura tried to either pick Myke's pocket... Or grab his ass... I'm not sure which. Smile All this time Myke is getting and making calls and text messages on his Trio.

We finally get let backstage around the First Aid tent. ((Side note: Myke has now made a huge deal about showing us how to get back stage... In our minds.))

We start heading to the party down a back road and Myke, talking to somebody on the phone, stops us. During the conversation he standing in the middle of this road where he almost gets run over by 3 golf carts and a jeep. I half expected the Jeep to have the goons in it, and for them to grab him and take off... Smile No such luck. Wink

So then he says, "Nisha wants us to go back." So we head back.

Myke then stops us at a gate where he does his, "Here's my wrist band, can we go through here?" bit... But the thing is, he stops us so we're standing infront of this sign... That shows all the different kinds of wrist bands and their security clearences... None of them look like the wrist bands we're wearing... (I took a picture of them after Myke went through the gate.)

Things that make you go "hmmm".

He leads us back to this cool, spherical drum thing, and then tells us to meet him back there at midnight... Jane mentions that midnight is a half an hour away... There are dangerous people running around and we're going to be left alone for an hour and a half.

Myke tells us that we're all very skilled people, and he's certain that we can handle ourselves.

We ask what we're supposed to do for an hour and a half
