[NEW] Acedemy website goes live OK, I know this started on the Firebox thread, but that has a lot to do with the puzzle cards as well, and the academy site is huge.
There is so much here, it boggles the mind: Lots of spatial clues (the academy is quite a large complex, accessible from two underground stations, near Polygon Park, with a bell tower; the mobius strip seems to be down )near the sea; and other tidbits (harry potter like school description)
But what gets me is that Sente is a security expert! You think his years at centrifuge would have helped him hold on to the cube!
And why is the cube not mentioned in the museum - they should at least say it is supposed to be there, if it is one of the most important artifacts?
More as I digest...

Another tidbit:
One of the major sponsors for the opening of the Earth Studies Unit at the Academy was teh company where Sente apparently worked for quire some time, Centrifuge.
Important? Who knows...

I'm more worried about the fact that he brought closer ties with PPC and the military...could Sente be more than he seems...?

Another connection:
Apparently Randall Tokei is a graduate of the Academy, in a programme where you express a phrase without words or a visual impression with music:
Connections: Apr 19th Sentinel article about his work; also, if there is an audio puzzle on whipsmart, it could be this kind of puzzle.

Last comment worthy thing:
Is you go to student services and click on the library page, you get a log in for students, BUT anyone can also apparently search for any document if you know the document code.
Yes, I have already tried the postcard number - nothing there, but there is bound to be info appearing here!

doubts about Sente Re: Sente's 'dark side'
Violet seems to think her dad took the cube as well. Hmmm, maybe he was trying to protect it from someone else? He seems keen enough for us to find it.

Hmm, it also seems to signify that I'm somehow related to the previous Master of the Academy...
I'm scared and amused at once.

You can't actually use the library services yet, because the sourcode of the page makes both buttons display the error message rather than use your input for anything.

There's some nicre extra cube info:
Quote:
About the Cube
The Receda Cube is the jewel in the crown of the Museum's collection. It was discovered in the Catbite area in around 7AC, a period of some turmoil and confusion. The Academy was, at this time, the repository for any unusual or potentially dangerous articles discovered. Having ascertained that the Cube was not immediately dangerous, Academy officials placed it on public display where it remained as an uninvestigated curiosity for over 30 years!
Today, the properties of the cube are still somewhat mysterious, and it is the subject of extensive, if wary, scientific investigation. It is still unknown whether the markings on the surface of the Cube are original or later additions. The more aggressive analysis of the Zeller Mastership proved largely counter-productive, and subsequent Masters have taken a less forceful passive approach. Detailed scientific analysis using a range of tools, including electron microscopy, MRI and TNI scans, as well as various metallurgical and spectrometric investigations, has provided limited information, and it has now been determined that the Cube is not made of any known naturally occurring substance.
Aside from these baffling scientific properties, the Cube is also acknowledged as a beautiful artistic object in its own right. The Museum is pleased to host several artists-in-residence every year, who take their inspiration from the various artefacts in our collection; the Cube is almost invariably a particular muse. The presence of the Cube is also said to convey a sense of peace and harmony; a number of religious groups in the city hold it in special reverence.
Please note: the Cube is not currently available for public view. We hope to have news of its safe return shortly.
Looks like it's not exactly vital to their society as they don't even know what it does. But it's a calming influence and they really want it back. It's not much more than we knew before but I suspect it's as much as we're likely to recieve for a while.

Also, all those variations of the text revealed in the Abbey Road coded message can be put aside as the full text is avaliable here

I didn't read it like that- seems to me she was giving a deliberately rebellious and difficult answer to the interviewer's question which she never expected would be taken seriously;

I mean, I never thought they'd broadcast it.
So now I'm in trouble
so maybe sente doesn't have a dark side after all, and violet's blog is just poking fun at us for thinking it was him.

Is it just me, or is there a button missing from the homepage...
I get the 4 buttons on one side, and 3 on the other with a big whitespace where the fourth one should be...

Oh yeah, has anyone noticed that the pages are dynamic like we suspected, the academy one is anyway....(the modified date is no longer constant, its the time when the page was served to you)
