The site's been around for a while according to the dates of some of those updates. It looks like it might be OOG. I'm guessing their the design studio MC used for some of the sites so their another aspect of the constant IG/OOG confusion. Their OOG technically but IG as they were used for the IG ARG.
Sorry, I wasn't reading properly and thought you were talking about the site linked through (and responsible for creating) whipsmartice.com. My mistake [/url]

surely it's in game. The firm lists their address as being in perplex city, plus it has a linkt to this:

A snoop around the sight and im pretty sure its fully in game.
"Welcome to O | open design ©2005 | 76 Hackett Road, Artists Quarter, Perplex City"
"Open Design is one of Perplex City's leading design agencies.....etc."
Plus in response to an E-mail
"Thank you for your email. When we have further information about projects
requiring outside designers, we will update our website and, where possible,
get in touch.
Open Design"
Plus what updates do you speak of?
None are mentioned on the site and it has no history on archive.org
But i see what you mean about the in/out game confusion. There were 2 other design firms links raised in another thread, which i think are definatly OOG, but im thinking this is legit.

I'm pretty sure the people who actually designed the ice cream site are lunartik - http://www.lunartik.com/ , not opendesign.
If you go to factory visit, click on the top left drip, a box pops up that says "Site design by Lunartik, music by Brandnew for opendesign, perplexcity"

That was the one I thought we were talking about. Brings back the IG/OOG line blurring.

EDIT: after looking closer, this is almost definitely legit sourcecode.
is it just me, or did something actually get put in the source code???
it's in the 'about us' section.

I noticed a similar thing in the code from the Academy site:
Code:
<!-- fwtable fwsrc="SPLASH.png" fwbase="splash.jpg" fwstyle="Dreamweaver" fwdocid = "258337647" fwnested="0" -->
I'm assuming "fw" means Fireworks, which is Macromedia's image editing program. This could possibly be the remains of when the site was designed as one large image then split up into the table layout by Fireworks and exported to Dreamweaver format.

Yep, it's just about that. Nothing special there.

I don't know if the site was like this before (I'm sure it would have been mentioned here if it was) but the projects page www.opendesignagency.com/projects.html seems to have information on some projects now, if its been mentioned before feel free to trout me but I couldn't see it in a search.
(I was trying to copy it across but my computer seems unwilling to copy anything other than a space, grrrr).
EDIT: It seems to let me copy now, here it is.
Quote:
Projects
The Open Design Agency is pleased to announce a partnership with Perplex City Sentinel enabling up-and-coming Perplex City brands to expose themselves to the emerging Earth market through the Sentinel's External Edition. The Agency now solicits Earth-based designs for a new series of online advertising uniquely tailored to the Sentinel's Earth readership. Submissions may be sent via e-mail (translation of graphic file formats to Perplex City key compatible systems is handled automatically) in GIF, JPG or PNG formats of the following sizes: 468 x 60 pixels (wide banner), 160 x 600 pixels (skyscraper) or 250 x 250 pixels (square) to submissionsSPLAT opendesignagency.com.
Designers are reminded that the Open Design Agency is not able to enter into correspondence, but successful submitters will be notified by email. Please make sure that any submissions are not subject to any adverse intellectual property rights and are cleared for publishing on the Sentinel's External Edition.
Neurolicious
A popular chain of Perplex City-wide puzzle bars, Neurolicious is eager to improve Earth awareness of its brand. Brain Bender is the place to be for cutting-edge twentysomethings in Perplex City offering both relaxing and stimulating environments where visitors are welcome to spend as long -- or as little -- as they would like.
Earth is a Noun
Ernestine Kohler's new book will no doubt be of interest on Earth and in Perplex City alike. This publication from Seaside Press is sure to be at the top of the fall non-fiction bestseller list as interest in Earth reaches new heights in Perplex City.
The above are merely sample briefs, and we hope to make further briefs available soon. The Open Design Agency remains willing to accept unsolicited submissions from parties wishing to highlight their design skill in marketing existing Perplex City businesses or events.
The Open Design Agency regrets that its present policy prevents it from being able to compensate any non Perplex City based designers for submissions used.

It's been around for a while I think - certainly since I first came across it about a month ago. (I didn't post because I just assumed it had always been like that & that there just weren't any other designers playing PXC.)
