[wild spec] Okay, let's just go nuts... Here's an idea...
Ian is worry.
We're butting into Ian's life. Nisha relies on us, he thinks, more then him, or even Virgil. We're all over their website.... He wants to throw us a red herring to keep us occupied.

I think that the fifth retriever, Laura, is a plant by the PMs to allow for some more interesting plot devices during the Coachella op. She may even be Worry...

Seems lots of people are thinking along those lines. She could just be from another board though.

My bet would be that Laura is a journalist who will write about the mission. (Media type, publicity could be helpful)...

per Rowan's advice I sent Nisa an email letting her know that I found my way into the after Party and if needed I can be called on. Here was her response

excellant, if nothing else you can be there to lend a hand if things go
out of control or if everything falls apart at least someone from the
outside can report back
exchausted, getting dinner and a nap

me thinks I will be getting a call that night. I will also send the number to my sidekick to HitsHer incase anything goes down and help is needed. I can also be an IM/email contact on the ground as my sidekick has all that available.<if you would like to volunteer to be the IM "gateway" send me a PM >
From a marketing standpoint it is pretty much a lock that they grabbed a writer to cover the event. "Laura" may not be a plant just a writer who is covering the whole mish for press.
Good luck to the people in the Mish. Just think of me as your shadow watching your backs =) Hopefully I can meet some of you on Saturday

I wonder if that's the dinner with Virgil? More likely that's happening tomorrow since she mentions napping...

She sent me an email that "hats are good" and mentioned dinner.
So I asked her to say Hi to Virgil for me....
No answer on that yet.
Speaking of dinner, is anybody else who's going interested in meeting at some point for dinner between music and party? Does anybody know anything about restrants in the area?

if your planning a meetup you are going to have to do it on the festival grounds. There is no way to leave the venue and get back in =( The after party for the event is actually on the festival grounds later that evening....

The FAQ and Festival Rules on the Coachella web site is really helpful.
http://coachella.com/rules/
Glad to hear there will be vegan and vegetarian food on site.
Medium-sized backpacks are allowed... I'm bringing a small quick change in a backpack. (don't know if the pink wig is happening during the day, and I need a small scattering of sequins for the afterparty...)
Hitshermark, I don't have your contact info yet... PM me with it?

I wonder what qualifies as a "medium-sized" backpack.
Maybe that's the first mission -- trying to convince the guards that my internal frame backpack is "medium-sized."

Okay that's easy then...
You will probably be able to spot me by a red hardshell backpack that says Starcraft Medic on it. Unless I go home to measure it and it's too big...
Quote:
How big is a medium backpack? / How will this be enforced?
A medium backpack should be no bigger than 20" tall, 15" wide and 9" thick packed. Bags will have to fit into a box of that size similar to the system used at Airports. If your bag doesn't fit in the box it won't be able to go inside the venue.
