INteresting I'm leaning towards something physics / more science oriented...I could be way off...just an initial thought. I look forward to the discussion and discovery.

new challenge 4/29 Well it's obviously a chart of some sort, but i'm not so great at the perception thing and cannot really tell what numbers are being represented. If someone else can figure it out, would you post please? Like 1, 20 (if that's even right!).
I also was wondering about the reflected image so it looks symmetrical across the x-axis. Can't wait to see what some of you come up with...

Well the numbers go from 1-26. That's gotta be the alphabet. Perhaps the spikes are all different heights? And the highest one is the letter a or the letter z. And this turns into a key to solve a substitution cipher somewhere.

Here's the challenge pic.

I'm thinking distribution graph, as in: choice 1 was chosen by 25 people, choice 2 was chosen by 5 people, and so on.
And that light-blue dot highlighting 10 in 21 looks certainly suspicious.

I wondering what cone #21 could mean. The image kind of looks like a spectrume analyzation of a sound.

If this helps in anyway
3D Connected Group Area: Good for showing trend information along the groups dimension.

I drew lines across the graph (using the almighty Paint) and here's my interpretation. I've included the letters of the alphabet, in case there's some relevance. First column is the number across the bottom. Second column is the letter tied to that number. Third column is my guess at the number. I attached the graph for anyone's reference.

2 B 5
3 C 14
4 D 20

You must take into consideration on some of the bars they are between lines so you should print 5 letters for 1

That's if you change them all into percentages. Maybe that's what the 21st entry is trying to imply - we are to look at them as parts of a whole.

guys my thoughts on this:
at first i thought this was some sort of activity chart for a site, perhaps even for ourcolony itself. but well since days they go as far as 26 hours still though, the blue dot in the 21 cone does look suspicious if you recall when the timer on the site ends....exactly, at 8:30. duno if there's any connection though.
ok so if the cones represent the alphabet...maybe we should start with the highest cone that has the dot in it, and then go to the highest cone after that...etc....? and a word might pop up? just a thought :S can't really think of anything else right now.
