Ugly Kids

Okay, there's a little mystery building out there. I was driving home last night and we saw a very odd billboard (on the same sign that held one of the Push ads, btw).

The ad shows two kids, one boy and one girl, who look like they're around 12 or 13. Both look like they've been retouched adding a big nose, gross teeth, etc. to make the kids look pretty homely. Between them are the words "Ugly Kids", underlined in red. Shocked

There's no phone number, address, nothing else. Simply "Ugly Kids." It's obviously a teaser for something.

I Googled and found that apparently these billboards have also shown up in the Minneapolis area, and that's it so far. Anybody want to venture any guesses as to what's going on with this?

According to this article, in Minneapolis it turned out to be promotion for a new morning radio show. The advertising later changed to something about the "Ugly Kids," the KDWB morning team Ryan and Angie Taylor, "becoming deejays."

Hmm, another morning show here in Vegas with the same promotion, maybe? On an affiliate station?

I still get sad when I drive by the former Push billboards. A couple of them are just white and say "Space Available."
Sad
