[SPEC] Tie in between the puzzle cards and locating the Cube

I'm afraid to post things on this forum, because I might have over-looked a post that this was already mentioned in. But I've searched, and looked through other SPEC threads, and I haven't seen this one around.

Sente says in his letter several points I want to draw attention to:

"We have investigated the theft very thoroughly and have been unable to solve the mystery."

"We hope that you will be able to make links and propose solutions that we might have overlooked."

"Puzzles are a central part of our culture and society"

On the reverse of the cards, showing the steps to take when solving the puzzle cards, in step number three it says to solve puzzle sets and receive "points + ?" . Then step #4 is "Investigate the mystery"

In PPC, the thieves who steal the Cube give the Academy a set of puzzles to solve in order to find the Cube again. With all the pressure the Academy is under and distress for the loss of the Cube, they're having problems solving the puzzles. OR, the Cube itself gives people in PPC the capacity to solve complex puzzles and thieves are saying something like "Let's see you solve these puzzles without your precious Cube."

So Sente and the Academy make this puzzle game. The "regular" people get some cards, solve some puzzles, and get some points. People who want to go the "extra mile" get card sets together, and solve the whole set. When that happens, the "?" in "points + ?" on step #3 becomes a Cube puzzle given to the person. They solve a set, and show that they're really into puzzle solving, so now they get to try one of the Cube puzzles.

The artist who put on a performance in the Park in PPC said "Earth is now Cubed, and we are Cubeless." That statement makes it sound like the presence of the Cube enhances the world it is in. Perhaps now that the Cube is on Earth, only the inhabitants of Earth can solve these complex puzzles the Academy were given by the thieves to find the Cube?

Very good spec and would help to justify the card game some.

Interesting theory. I think that there is enough out there to pretty well refute the idea that the people of PC are unable, in some way, to solve the puzzles anymore. Looking at the content of not only the Sentinel, but also PC Academy, there is basically no substantive mention of what the cube does. While we do know that Sente is controlling what we see, common sense would say that the PC Academy website would prominently address anything like a dimished capacity for puzzle solving among the populace at large. That sort of problem would be a major issue for the leading puzzle-solving body in the city.

If Earth is 'cubed' and is better for it... why would we want to find it to give it back???

Oh I can think of 200,000 reasons (depending on which currency you're using)

This is slightly off-topic, but there is one mention of what the Cube does on the Academy site: "The presence of the Cube is also said to convey a sense of peace and harmony; a number of religious groups in the city hold it in special reverence." While this says nothing about enhancing puzzle-solving abilities of the Cube's posessors, I like this statement because it finally offers, even if miniscule, explanation as to why the Cube is worshipped, and of what it "can do".
