PP/Carbine works peachy. It's harder to get a headshot without the BR spread, but you can still do it. I prefer the carbine if I don't have a PP.

And I don't know why everyone is whining about it. Use it yourself if it's there, there's no reason not to. It still loses out close range to SMG/Plasma Rifle, and as long as you don't get into the open you're alright.

While I'm glad to see the combo gone, I'll admit that its for a selfish reason: I get owned by it constantly. That, and the people who use it tend to be the standard XBL moron who I detest so much. Present company excepted, of course! I'm fine with using the combo as a portion of a larger strategy, but when its 100% of what you do it gets old, like any option used that much.

If this were a real life gunfight, then fine use whatever you want. But real life gunfights aren't supposed to be fun - Halo 2 is. Thus the tactics should be more balanced.

For that reason, I also agree with whoever said the sniper is still overpowered. One skilled sniper should not be able to completely turn the tide of a game.

well I'm gonna single out Vash as an example here. I remember one game on Lockout, it was something objective based. He got the sniper every time, and after that nobody on my team could do anything. Stepping outside of the bottom of the elevator room was instant death. The problem was that nobody could get close enough to use the short range advantage.

Maybe that's just a lack of skill on our parts, but I doubt it.

The key to no-scopes is to not try to aim for the head. Don't try to "aim" at all.

Let the guy get in close for second. If he jumps, you may have already won. Whenever someone jumps around me now while I have a sniper rifle, I just make sure they take up my screen and shoot them twice in the stomach with the rifle. When they jump, their next 3 seconds of direction are already decided. You no longer need to predict.

"injections" is the technical term for this kind of kill.

I was just looking at my stats and rembered this game from saturday. I rember we were complaining about how good the snipers were on the blue team, I didnt stop to look at my 52 kills, 9 more than anyone else in the game and not a single sniper kill in those 52. Everyone most killed by....me heh! Now i dont get to gloat too often so I thought this would be a good one. That is all. Return to your regularly schedualed ownege of me.

I have trouble using the weapon switch in order to use the PP/BR combo myself. I suppose it's something I could train with, but I dunno. It's so frustrating when used against me, because I will SEE someone trying to use it, and I canNOT always leap aside from the SEEKING plasma burst, so I am essentially dead, no matter what. I have no recourse.

I also love how some people are like, "TOTAL HATE for {a particular combo or weapon}" as if THAT is the weapon that always unbalances maps. Hahaha! It's funny. Everyone's got an opinion. Almost every single weapon or combo has been mentioned as the instigator of unbalancing a game.
