when posting, click where it says spoiler, type the text you want hidden then click spoiler again.

Red Thingies also known as "spoiler tags":
When you're in the "post reply" screen, there are a number of buttons below the subject header line and above the text box. In the second row is one called "Spoiler". Click on that before adding the text you want hidden, and click the button again once you finish adding the text you want hidden.
e.g. [ spoiler ] insert text here [ /spoiler ] (I added spaces within the tag structure so they'd show up in the post)
You'll get something that looks like this:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
hidden! ooo oo hidden!

thanks ^^
okay... i wrote her... and this was her first answer:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
this is how it must go. must go. it must go this way. i will meet the champion in the city that never sleeps. in person. in reality. the champion will meet me. documents will be handed over. handed over from me to the champion. this champion must promise to bring these documents to all the children. every child. they can't hurt you if they know you have it. they'll be afraid you'll show it to everyone if they go after you. this is my plan. my plan. where's my champion?
So i wrote back...
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
So need somebody who lives in New York?
No problem, we'll find somebody you can trust. There are so many people who want to help!
and got this..
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
find me this person. this person
and then
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
find me my champion. my champion
I answered - of course -
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Can you tell me where to start my search? We found the book "unholy trinity" - can it help us? Where can we start - or better - go on?
and this was her answer...
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
i have the documents to give to the champion. then the champion will give to u.
my last mail was this:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Thank you for trusting me. I'll give my best. We'll give our best. And we will go through it all. Should I search for a champion? Or do you want to choose him or she?
and this was her mail:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
search. i trust you. i do
And now I'm a bit nervous *g*
WordOyster - you are from New York, right?! Can you help us?

Hey guys! I emailed Gertrude the following email:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Hey Gertrude. My name is Julie, and I want to help in any way I can. I live in Manhattan, so I can meet you if you need to share the rest of the document. We're all here to help, so please let me know what else we can do. Thanks, and be careful!
She immediately sent me this response!
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
how do i know? how do i know? are you the champion? have you defeated all others? all others? how do i trust you? do others trust you? are you the chosen sibling? i want them all to show me they have trust. if everyone has trust, i am included in the everyone. to see my face. to see my face. i need to be sure. there are at least 100 others. 100 others. let them all say you're the champion.
Okay, so I think we got another little project to do. It sounds like she wants 100 other people to say I'm trustworthy? Maybe we can set up like another website or a guestbook type thing and have 100 people sign it? What do you guys think?

yes. Something like that. Or an extra threat? If this is enough... Or - of course - a website.

Apparently, the "champion" is to meet Gertie in NYC and get the documents to mail out to the other players? Are they too lazy to do it themselves? Yes, I think they are. Anyway, yeah, sounds like the same old counter thing like last time.

I definitely think that either a counter or a guestbook are great idea.
Ie: on the misery site we have, maybe have a button to a page with the caption *if you trust julie click the link* with a counter on it. and then email the page address to gertrude.

she said - "i want them all to show me they have trust. if everyone has trust, i am included in the everyone. to see my face. to see my face. i need to be sure. there are at least 100 others. 100 others. let them all say you're the champion ." (emphasis mine own)
i would go more with the idea of a guest book or whatever. seems to be to satisfy what she asking. or maybe im reading too much into it.

i want names of everyone who nominates the champions. nominates the champion. names names names
So guestbook looks like a good plan.

I find this pretty odd, considering Martha wanted to know nothing about us. It seemed the "less you know, the better" deal was the standard in this ARG, but Gertrude wants to know everyones name. Only reasons I can think of, is
a) Gertrude now things everything needs to be out in the open instead of discreet, because the more people know who is involved, the less likely someething "will happen."
b) This isn't really Gertrude at all. The message on the website doesn't really match the diction of her emails. For some reason she seems to repeat herself alot in the emails, while the voice was very straight forward. I don't really see a reason for this as you would type both since the voice was computer generated. The tone just seems like its from 2 different people.
c) Once again they are using us for free advetising ((duh)) and they just want to make sure that 100 unique people see this, instead of someone just reloading the page over and over. BTW isn't there already a guestbook on misery's page?

I like the theory that GertrudeLong07 isn't really Gertrude, because I'm not at all keen on the idea of sending someone out for a face to face meeting. The PMs can forget about any pimping on my part for 100 nominations for a "champion."
I suggest we keep probing GertrudeLong07 for answers as to why it is so important to send a champion out for a meeting.
