Are we the ONLY ourcolony? Are there any other incarnations of ourcolony in any other nations? if i'm an international company who is trying to make a global impact, i would not make just one viral campaine in one country, i woild make several, and in different countries. i know we have colonists in good ol' england, so apperently this is the same for them, but what if there is a chinese one that the language barrier has blocked us from seeing. and what if the intro page to our colony was refering to us as one colony versu a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT website based colony? i know this is wierd, but it would be as startling twist, and, businesswise, make alot of sense. and of COURSE u would have to have the other website colonies in the dark about their future opponents, bcuz then they would conspire b4 hand. as i said be4, i know this is somewhat left field, but it would not surprise me..

I agree. SPEC alert..... Hey to all, been lurking rather intently for 6 mos or so now.. don't think i've posted yet...
This has been bothering me as well... If this an official contest/game/arg/viral.... for the new box then it seems a bit simplified, especially compared to what i saw of ILB, and that was just for one game.
If a game like ILB can/was created and payed for by MS, and was greeted by such a great response, why has ourcolony seemed toned down? Starts to make since that something larger may grow. (And there certainly is time for it with system launch 6 mos away.) - Slippy

I highly doubt it. Search engines make it too easy to cross reference sites with even the slightest connection to Xbox 360 or Next Gen. The language barrier is also not strong enough, because even though most american don't speak other languages, most foreign Internet users DO speak english (or know enough to surf and get information on the net effectively). So unless these "parallel" campaigns had nothing to do Xbox 360 or Next Gen or E3 or MTV... then I doubt we'll have other teams to compete against.

nola, i see ur arguement, and though excessively logicall, i must say that i really believe that there is soemthing that we must be represented against....also...why only america? i mean, i love my country to death, but wy only us? microsoft KNOWS they lost round one to PS2. why not try and go to that market. also, i am taking into acount that this is an ARG-ish competition, one which ISN'T meant to garner an uber-fanbase. however, is america the only place tat ARG's flurish? i just doubt their reasoning.

whats to say that they other "colony" websiites arn't under a far less obvious name? what if ours is taylored to an "ant colony" while another is taylored to a ladder, with it's members being the "bars that allow accension to truth"? i think if soemone was googlin to find an xbox360 arg, they would not find one, being that this site does not mention the words xbox360 directly. i know i didn't? i foudn this through gamespot! granted, if u googles for our colony, u'd find it, but u'd have to know what the name was first. there also is the idea that gamespot or IGN would've FOUND those other ARG sites, but idk, i think there are others....

Well I'm from Finland and I have to say that after joining this colony it took me a while to find this forum. While searching I didn't find any other place for ARGolonists. I haven't been very active in solving the puzzles but it's been very interesting just to spectate. Maybe that's because I don't have much to give in most of the challenges but if something from my field comes out I'll be sure to help out.

I totally agree with Nola. in fact, I'm, from the Netherlands myself, and there's no such thing as a dutch version of ourcolony, or a European one even. also, every single console- or gaming-related website you visit will mention ourcolony and no other website.

No finnish version either..
If I remember correctly when joining this game somewhere it was said that each colony shoud get members from all over the world to get best out of their colonies. And wasn't there a way to collect points by sticking ourcolony logos to known places of different cities and taking a picture of them? Finlands capital city Helsinki was on of those cities. I'm sure I saw a list somewhere...

Its almost certainly just one single Our Colony. I've gotten hits on the Colonist from almost every single European country (even the small ones), all the richer Asian countries, several South American countries, and even Saudi Arabia. They're all doing the same thing we are, on the same site.
As for post-May 12th, theres always the possibility that the clock resets to count towards E3. May 12th would certainly drive off large numbers of ppl from Our Colony. Maybe the dedicated are then rewarded.

So if there is one big world colony i will not count on ilovebees-style reward at the end. I can't imagine myself traveling from Poland to USA, just for pick up the phone call with info about "secret x360 party" around the place. I don't want to be discriminated just because i'm not from the United States.

I see your point as well. There could be other groups going on some scavenger hunt totally unrelated to this that will find themselves competing for whatever it is we'll be competing for.
However, the problem with that is that if this parallel game is not related to Xbox 360, next gen or even video games (which almost has to be unrelated for us to miss it), then the audience demographic is unlikely to be interested in Xbox 360, so why bother.
For it to work there needs to be a common denominator on all the parallel games that will eventually lead them on a collision course... I just don't see a topic that would accomplish this other than next generation gaming, although if the Xbox 360 is more of an entertainment hub, perhaps the home theater, digital photography, music sharing folks are on a quest of their own (some leads for you, even though I think it is highly unlikely).

so we are If we xbox diehards all over the world are in on the same "colony" game then would it mean the "Our Colony will be first" is meant to through us off course.
Also if the message THX will rep us was seen by all then is he the rep for ALL colonies?
Makes you think that maybe were looking at the wrong end of things here.
Also, did anyone get the club Avalon thing?
Longhorn
The 4 components are:
Avalon
Indigo
Aero
Castle
kinda weird but I think that the next x will be longhorn based
