Email Phyllis Iris is Obsessed so the Mask needs a new HOME

Dearest Sunny,
The tension in the house is almost beyond bearing. I have dared not take a moment to write to you before now. Iris has become obsessed with the mask! Have a look at the images Sam put up for us and you'll begin to see part of the reason for her attraction.
http://www.aglauranj.org/antiquesmask.htm
It is incredibly beautiful and the urge to put it on has consumed Iris. When we all woke up Saturday morning, we had a discussion among the four of us and by majority rule – 3 to 1 – we decided that we would not experiment with the mask the way we had with the stone and the manuscript. The dissenting vote was Iris and she would not let go of it. I prepared a box, lined with cotton batting, and intended to place the mask in a hiding spot but Iris would not let me put it away. "No," she said, "Just let me look at it. I won't do any trance work. It's so beautiful; I just want to look at it."

I can't blame her for being obsessed really. I mean, it isn't every day that
you find a magical object that materializes out of thin air. To Iris, receiving the mask has been the crowning achievement of years of psychic research. It is not a vision, an ephemeral experience like the séance with Sarah – it is solid proof that other worlds exist beyond our world. One can understand her fascination. Believe me, I recognize her state of mind very well. I felt the very same way about the contents of the trunk. It was a mystery that awed me and I became obsessed with it, compelled by it and, ultimately, possessive of the objects I found in there. Iris could not merely look at the mask. She had to hold it and trace the details with her fingertips. She had to sit, holding it on her lap, staring into its blind visage. A vague, dreamy look would come across her face and one of us would call her back, shouting, "Iris, no!" I reasoned with her, "Let me put it away. It's dangerous. We need to put it away." But, she would not accept that. James told her, "Just don't touch it. Stop touching it," and she would agree. Then, a little later, there she would
be with it in her lap again.

I tell you the three of us became very nervous and started whispering behind her back. Our feeling was we needed to be watching her at all times. We dared not leave her alone with the thing. Yesterday afternoon, she said she was going to take a nap and we made her lay the mask in the box. About ten minutes later, I heard cries of alarm coming from the security team outside the house. One of them was shouting, "Look! Who are those guys!" I looked out the window and saw a line of DEG's coming toward the house. There was confusion in the yard because only one of them could see them. The rest were alert and anxious but also thinking their fellow was imagining things. Thumps and bumps started up in the walls and the three of us ran to the box and discovered the mask was gone!
We ran up the stairs to Iris' room but she wasn't there. In rising panic, we
ran from room to room, calling her name. All the while, the spirits of Amelia and Hamilton were pounding the walls, louder and louder.

We found Iris in the guest room, in the room where she had first seen the
vision of Sarah as a little girl, in the room where Douglas had slept during
his last months! She was lying on the bed with the mask over her face! Her head was rolling from side to side and she was making muffled moans. The urge to yank it off her face was tremendous. But, I breathed deeply, centered myself and visualized a protective sphere of white light the way Iris has taught me to do. Then I gently lifted the mask off of her face and handed it to James. I told him, "Take it away. Put it in the box and seal the lid." The house fell silent and the uproar in the yard faded away.

Iris was slow coming out of her trance and told us a nightmare vision that has left her haunted and withdrawn. Of course, she asked for the mask and we have told her in no uncertain terms that she cannot have it. I hid the box and Iris is still looking for it while Chris or James go along with her, pleading for her to give it up. This is all terrible, terrible! I must get rid of it. I must get it out of the house and away from Iris before she goes completely mad! But, it is so very fragile; I don't want to risk sending it through the mail to one of you. Is there a helper in the Burlington area? Is there someone we can trust to whom we could give it? I could send someone as far as Philadelphia if need be. Please, this is urgent, Sunny; I must find someone who will take this responsibility! It must be someone that you all agree is trustworthy.

Anxiously yours,
Phyllis

We need to seriously consider who the best candidates are. Could everyone that is close to Aglaura and surrounding points post on this thread so that we can all make the decision where it should go?
I will let Phyllis know that we are in council about who it should go to.
We should do this quickly!

Interested in helping

Sunny-
I have not had direct contact with either Iris or Phyllis, but I have been following your relationship with them. I want to help out in this cause someway, anyway I can. My puzzle solving skills have been fruitless in this quest. Rolling Eyes If this is my only opportunity to help the cause I accept the responsibility. Of course if you or Phyllis find a better candidate for this responsibility I will understand.
I live on Long Island, so getting to NJ is a breeze. In fact I have family that live nearby, so I could make it a full day trip to NJ.

I'm wondering why you don't turn it into a party. Have everyone willing to go show up and keep the "recipient" company.

an excerpt from a letter from Iris - who is freaking out. This was posted in its entirety on CD.

But look at what is interesting. "Our fingers..."

Iris is channeling someone else.

Of course, our first instinct is to deny her the mask. But that's just contrary, isn't it? What if she were given it? What's the worst that could happen, if she were kept under observation with it on her?...

James Chris and Phyllis have gone mad! They are not listening to reason and refuse
to listen to me! You have to email her and tell her that I need the mask! I NEED
IT! Can't you understand?

I am trapped in this room. There is barely enough space to turn around and the
bricks block out all light. But oh there are the sounds again! They are here and
they want something. They are here!

Can't you understand that I need to help them? Can't you understand that if I
do not keep the mask they will die in that little room with the DEGs watching and
no one to hear them as they scream? Our fingers are sore and throb but we keep
scratching at the bricks! How else will anyone know we are here? Can't you hear
them screaming for help?

Write to Phyllis and tell her that they need to let me have the mask! TELL HER
TO LET ME HAVE THE MASK! Please, oh god, I can hear them again. Please, help me
get out of here. I am so tired, I want to sleep but I am so afraid that I will never
wake up. Please, someone help me
