EMAIL PHYLLIS SUCCESSFUL TRANSFER OF MASK!!!

Sunny One,
Pass on the news to everyone: the transfer of the mask was finally achieved! It was not without confusion. Did we expect differently? But, everyone is safe and nothing horrid happened. You may expect a full report from the ladies involved -- with photos!

Love,
Phyllis

Hello everyone,

I was one of the ones that was there to see the transfer. Phyllis saying "not without confusion" is an understatement. Very Happy The antique store where we were to meet, didn't even exist. (some place called Fox Hill Antiques). I get all the way up there and find the 3500 block of Route 38 and then I see the 1900 block of Route 38, but no 2100 block with Fox Hill Antiques. Phyllis also told Barb that Route 38 turned into Maine St., but that's not true either. Barb. calls me to tell me Phyllis gave us a non-existent store, right after we all got into the area. Strange how she all knew we were in the area. Thank goodness we all had each others cell phone numbers. Even one of Phyllis' security guards got lost (he was the errand boy since Sam couldn't make it). Let me just say that Map Quest SUCKS!!! So to make a long story short, we all ended up meeting at a Bowling Alley. The security guard passed the mask off to RaynardM, while BarbarellaNY and I just watched. We hung out and talked for awhile and then Phyllis called and said to get out of the parking lot. End of the story. (I hope) I won't bore you with all the little details.
Phyllis sounds kind of out of it and really ditzy. I guess she used Map Quest too. Shocked
I will post pictures tomorrow if BarbarellaNY or RaynardM doesn't (which I'm sure they will).

All I have to say is that I wanted a little more excitement. No DEG's or nothing Sad Oh well.

RaynardM's accounting from CD

[quote]Like a pathetic secret agent, I placed my camera, ID and gun (prop gun..just in case!) in a pottery barn bag and headed out for the drive. I was off to pick up Barbarellany from Tartanwolf, who was at the last minute unable to join us on our journey as planned.

We took off towards New jersey...then I got a call from Phyllis. We spoke to her for awhile, explained that we had a few wrong turns here and there
but we were on our way...and did she have the exact location we were to meet? She did...but did not know how we were to get there. She decided to look on her map and call us back later. She speaks rather slowly and properly, although seemed quite happy and kept saying how wonderful it was that we were all on a little adventure.

As we drove, we imagined what might lay before us...we conjured up images of DEGs charging at us, perhaps kidnapping one of us or worse...or Iris, wild with lust for the mask rushing out and demanding we relinquish it.
Phyllis called again. She told us mose precise directions to the antique shop and chatted for awhile. I asked how Iris had been behaving since the mask left and she laughed, "did you hear what happened? Well she tried to go after the mask, I had to stand in front of her car to make her stay! between you and me, I am getting a little tired of her!" She joked and chatted a bit more...very fun to talk to but again, seemed downright giddy.

We approached the town and Missfytz, who was to meet us, called to say she could not find this shop at all..followed by a call from Phyllis saying her security man could not locate it either. (lol) and could we meet him at the Holly Bowl bowling alley parking lot. With a laugh, we continued and found it right away.

The sun was starting to set (note: phyllis said her man was having trouble finding it in the dark, and it was not dark yet! oops) and we drove in and parked by Missfytz....and noticed a man waiting in a black Escape nearby. We gathered our nerves and cameras....not to mention my prop gun tucked in my purse...and I approached the man. He was possibly early 40s, wearing sunglasses and an aglaura T-Shirt under a denim shirt. He seemed not to want to stay and chat, or to say much at all. I asked if he was Phyllis' friend, he said yes...handed me the box. Did not ask for ID or anything! "Be careful with this, its fragile" I agreed and asked if there was a message form Phyllis or anything else we need to know...he said nope and waved goodbye, got in his car and left.

The parking lot was quiet and dim....I walked back to the car where the ladies were waiting and taking photos. We all looked about nervously....no DEGs to the right....no DEGs to the left....no Marzano construction trucks around..hmm. We got in the car and opened the box. The mask was wrapped in tissue paper and an old towel inside a Macy's bag. (see photos) The mask was nicer looking than the pictures we had seen, it was really quite pretty. I held it up to my face and laughed becaue it still had the fishing line used ot hang it strung through the back. lol...guess they put
it there AFTER Iris wore it? lol.

We got out of the car when we realized no one would be coming for us and talked for a bit..maybe half an hour or so. we were worried about ALH1213, as she was also supposed to meet us and never showed up. We realized there were some stickers from Wes' shop in the box for us..but only three. Now, phyllis knew ahead of time our group was cut to 4, but none of us knew ALH1213 was not coming until the very end...so how did they know there would be only 3 of us? We will assume the security guy took one out when he saw us arrive?

The phone rings..its Phyllis again. I told her we were successful and the mask was tucked safely in one of our cars. She says, so are you driving home yet? I said no, weve been talking...we've never met so...and she starts to say something about how nice the mask is. I couldn't hear her because of some noise in the lot (we all jumped!) and she laughed and said, more seriously, "leave the parking lot" I said we would and said my goodbyes. She really seemed anxious for us to leave..uh oh was there somehting waiting for us when we left?

Of course Jersey roads are a bit wonky so we had to go around to get back where we had to go. nothing happened to either car! We may have blown their plan..but nothing happened, we had no reaosn to to leave the lot immediately. In fact, she's lucky we were not in the bar! We also decided that the woman was just too giddy and excited not to be lit or
smoking some serious mary jane. Perhaps valium? not sure but it certainly was funny. I wonder if that was intentional or not???

We drove home, sat in traffic, missed barbarellany's train...sat in ever more traffic and finally got home at 2:30 am!

It was a very interesting experience! I have to say I wish something more hadhappened..even a DEG walking towards us in the parking lot, something! But now one of us has the mask in a safe place, mission accomplished. We also decided we should have a party when the game ends, it was very nice meeting everyone! so now I suppose we wait and see what happens.... [/quote

Phyllis andswers some of our questions but not others - like was our contact "Wes"? he never said.

Dear Barbara,
I am so glad you all got home safely and didn't encounter any DEG's. I was so nervous last night and trying to be happy and upbeat to send out
positive energy to fight the darkness. I hoped to make you laugh so that you wouldn't be afraid. I was -- as you say you were -- "wired" last night, too. After you all heard that noise and I told you get away, I became anxious that you were being pursued. I focused on good thoughts by writing to one of the helpers.

Your question about the bumper stickers surprised me. I had no idea how
they got in there! I called around and Sam told me he put them in when he
had the box. He only had three in his office so it's an odd little coincidence,
isn't it? I take it as a good sign. Did you also like how I fixed the back of
the mask so that it can be hung on a wall? I remembered what you had said that you might do with it. I also thought this might hinder any of you from trying it on. Perhaps, I shouldn't have altered it...

Iris went into a sulk after I blocked her from following the man who delivered the mask to you. She wandered off and came home late. She seems much calmer today but is very resentful towards me. She is still quite upset by her vision of what she calls the "Trapped Lady" and feels that the loss of the mask will prevent her from helping this person. She feels I have made a serious mistake by sending it away. I hope that she will re-discover her natural gifts and forget about "needing" the mask.

Fondly,
Phyllis

Spec: Perhaps the "Trapped Lady" is Sarah?

or Meaghan. We are back to where we were. I keep trying to get them to the Library where other locals have heard scratching sounds. She doesn't need the mask.
