[TROUT] Firebox Summer 2005 catalogue clue chase

Good morning world!

I got the 2005 copy of Firebox (that's a retail magazines that sells ingenious junk) through the post today, which via an attempt to sell me a pack of Perplex City cards led me on a most merry chase. I post the various parts of puzzle, but unfortunately my computer skill is…lacking. I've scanned them all into the PC, but can't figure out how to do the posting bit. So until I get that sussed I can only describe it. If this sounds like cheating, then sorry, stop reading and I'll try posting them soon.

At the bottom of every page of the booklet is a pale gray strip with the words "Win a trip to Hollywood" Every page, that is, except the page with the Perplex cards on it. Here the bottom strip is black and the words read "the scarlett kite". In the corner of that page, there is a black triangle with handwritten mirror writing in it. Will try to post here soon. For those who don't mind knowing, the words are
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
"Patrick-we need to communicate to Firebox how serious this matter is. This is not a game. >>p14"

So, infinitely curious, I went to page 14. Up one side, the tiny, small words read "Vg zvtug qb gurz fbzr tbbq gb svaq bhg > p23"

So, even more curious, I went to page 23. Up the side of a beer bottle the tiny, small words read "jui Gur Phor vf fb vzcbegnag gb hf. Fragt > p27"

So, bemused, perplexed and curious, I went to page 27. Right at the top, the tiny, small words read "jjj.crecyrkpvglnpnqrzl.pbz"

The above three code-bits have been recorded with their precise capitalisation, full stops etc. I promise that second-to-last word really is that long. I am bad at puzzle solving. Period. I just happen to be a closet conspiracy theorist…my only conclusion so far is the fact that there are no vowels, except in the words beginning with a capital. Perhaps they're names or something? Although I fail to understand why names can't be encoded too…

Any brainwaves?[/img]

Decoded

It's a simple shift code. Decoded:

The only thing is the typo in the second line. Deliberate or mistake?
