The only thing is the typo in the second line. Deliberate or mistake?

I don't think that's a typo mistake : there're several "v" in wrong places :

1) today in the Firefox catalogue , as Alison_1 saw

Vg zvtug qb gurz fbzr tbbq gb svaq bhg
jui Gur Phor vf fb vzcbegnag gb hf : "i" (="v" instead "y"in the word "why" )
jjj.crecyrkpvglnpnqrzl.pbz

2) on the 28th of April , in the Firebox catalogue :

Vg zvtug qb gurz fbzr tbbq gb svaq bhg
jul Gur Phor vf fb vzcbegnag gb hf.
jjj.crecyrkpvglnpnqrzi.pbz : "i" ( ="v" instead "y" in the word "academy")

3) in the bottom of the #041 card , 3 ligns are wrotten ( too littke than I can read them today - because of the scan's authorized too low definition , but at the 1st one's end , there's so "v"

those"v" remind me Antoine Vielle ( PPC Academy Arts )

http://www.perplexcityacademy.com/departments.html

"Adjunct Senior Fellows: Rebecca Croft and Antoine Viellev".....
....
Antoine Vielle holds a fellowship in poetry... poems contain some linguistic "trick" such as a preponderance of homophones, or a letter missed out "

I spec He has gathered those "v" and lost them in weird places : why ? for meaning something to us, I don' t know...

Interesting find. V instead of Y is a hard typo to make, they are not exactly close on the keyboard. You might be on to something here.

Too bad www.perplexcitv.com doesn't work Razz

I'm not sure if I follow what you are saying deprez, but the title of this thread rang a bell in my mind instantly. I noticed:
Quote:
vDepartment of Social Sciences
from the Public Events section of the Academy website.

When I emailed sente.kiteway SPLAT perplexcityacademy about the typo it took two days for a reply. And that reply was garbage - only notification that my letter had bounced.

This is Very interesting. . .

Can we get together a list of all the v-typos - may form a sentence or similar? Or even a location clue, vielle = old in French, Department could be and area/county/state type thingy....

After looking at the source this one appears to be sloppy coding. Looks like they were pasting (control-v) in all the <strong> tags and must've slipped off of control on that line and didn't realize.

Or maybe thats what they want us to think. Very Happy

Nice - I was thinking CTRL+V but totally overlooked the human factor!
It's gotta be a puzzle though, the 'previous' section in bold is the Dept of Languages ~ yes? What kind of names are those? Vaccaro Cyriak? (Holy Cow?)

I'm French (haven't You seen my numerous mistakes ? !I must go learning English with Anna Heath , as the #170 card's scibe is going ! )

So , in French "vielle" doesn't mean "old" ;"vielle" ( I haven't found the good translated word ...) is a Middle-Aged instrument , I'm googling for its definition or image !

However , "vielle" is meaning to me an ancient poet's name near - "homophonic "?- to me : but , who ?( You know , I' m rather old - but no "veteran" in ARG , I regreet... - and Alzheimer's disease is coming perhaps ..!)

Would somebody having a Sente's parcel be able to scan those 3 ligns so that they can be read ? Thanks !

In my fairly recent firebox catalogue neither of those two spelling mistakes exist. Could it just be a mistake they fixed?

Did you get that from the paper catalogue or a scan? As i's can look quite a lot like l's.

Antoine Viellev (Arts) extra "v"
Antoine Vielle
...
I know it;s a "v" thing but here are other Adjunct Senior Fellows with name weirdness:

Raiza Czenechovsky' (Cryptology) extra apostrophe
Raiza Czenechovsky

Roberto Solitano (Languages) missing "o"
Robert Solitano

I'm living in France : no paper catalog ; I saw it on http://www.firebox.com/ on the 4/28 , and I Imoved it by "copied-sticked" (?) ( in French "copié-collé" or" Ctrl+C" + "Ctrl+V" , you know ? ) ; the 2nd one , on 5/06 , is notified by Just Curious ( first post of [LOCKED] [TROUT] Firebox Summer 2005 catalogue clue chase ) and the next one -from Alisn_1 -

It must be asked for Just Curious and Alison_1 what it is ; Alison_1 is a member - can be lconnected by a pm -, Just Curious isn' t one :too bad !..
But , it's very interesting that the 2 typo are the same "i"for "l" in 2 different words ; Just Curious wanting to playus false must not be thought

More , the 1st one points to Perplex City Academy , where others "v" have been found.
And the 2nd one asks "why" ; so it can be spec the thief belongs to the Academy[/b]

So there're other letter's or "sign"'s anomalies ( I 've not found the true english word for "'" apostrophe and things like that : can somebody write it ? thanks )

You can make the file growing bigger , and i'll change its name : "weird signifiants "?!

I would like somebody explains me the two volume cycle of verse 's titles -written by Antoine Vielle- : Never Odd and Or Even
