im going to have to see the xbox360 to believe this so called revolution that is coming.

From what ive read, it does nothing that a mid to high end pc cant already do thats hooked up to a nice TV.

I have to say i believe we are missing something, and there is a significant piece of the puzzle still faced down that none of us will get to find out the details of until the time is ready.

They said those pictures were sent by an "unknown source" to engadget, theres no reason to say that source wasnt microsoft or the people behind ourcolony.

Maybe they are all toying with us, and have the real secret, the real truth, still hidden away somewhere.

Hmmm

Actually, i wouldn't be surprised if the product shown at the taping, including the logo, will be "updated" when it is broadcast on thursday. Then again...

Wow. So many questions. Are you allowed to say where you went, if anywhere? Or if the truth will really be revealed when the countdown hits zero?

Need more input!! IIINNNNNPUUUUUTT! Smile

Seriously, though, congratulations on being chosen as our rep. It must have been a fun adventure. Can't wait to hear more details.

Hey i've seen that pic on someones blog who worked for xbox.com , which is why i'd guess they were there in the first place. i though it had to do with nintendo being that it said "REVOLUTION" so i saved it. but perhaps it doesnt?

This was a picture taken by one of the members of The Brotherhood Colony. It shouldn't have anything to do w/OC, besidse being a Colonist Pic. Smile

Not to be negative or rude to you thx, but your comments in the blog

" I want to tell you everything I know. That in mind I can't, and I refuse to. Don't you think it would spoil it for everyone?"

If the images of the console are real that have leaked, the specs are real that have leaked... whats there to spoil ?

-Megaman2k Of Course However Knows Something Is Up-
But still interested to know

Random bits:
-Console specs are different from PC specs. The original Xbox runs on a 700meg processor, yet cranks out a pretty remarkable port of DOOM3 that a 3gig computer would have trouble pushing (depending on your setup, of course), and the Xbox costs <$200 while the PC for those games is easily >$2000. Don't bash the 360 for having "midrange PC" stats... midrange PC stats today would turn a console into an absolute monster rig compared to its competitors.
-There's an event at the end of the countdown to congratulate paticipants. Something. M$ wouldn't have hired a company to do this if it was going to all go poof and disappear in the end. Just hang in there and also realize that ARGs are all about being social and getting to hang out with people- if you're only in it for the end reward, it's not going to be worth near as much as it will be for people who fought to get it all this time. So get in there and work for it!

OFFTOPIC:

That doom3 is NOTHING like what a computer would crank out. Normal mapping is gone, lighting is nothing like the same, and the animations are choppy as (not hell). The character models are sorely less detailed and the levels are masacred , leaving only tiny little chunks of them, so that they can fit into memory.
Please I would appreciate it if nobody ever claimed that the xbox doom3 is a remarkable port. Its a port, but no where near remarkable.

ONTOPIC:
THX, should we be looking at your blog as puzzles or clues waiting to be solved? I've been staring and stewing over that page for a while now, and I'm dissapointed knowing that people aren't really thinking that they could be clues like I am. I would love for discussion to be opened up on the topic, if it is what you intended your blog to do.

It's pretty obvious that the AIM gamem8ker is fake:
"if you're chatting with me, you're not chatting with me" - gamem8ker [ourcolony.net]

Hello???
Is anybody in there???
If you have a brain in your head, you know what the point is.

googie, it's not that simple. #1, apperently they asked the AIM gamem8ker to change something once and it happened. #2, no one knows if thats what he means, and neither do u. b4 u try and cut a whole bunch of ppl, do ur research. ur in no possition to mock others, k lurker? have a nice day

PS. nova, we should look at the blog as helpful nudges, a gental hand getting us across the finish line. however, i can't stop thinking, why do we need nudges unless a MONSTER of a puzzle is upon us soon? *bites fingernails like crazy*

First off, I'm a game developer.

The XBox has far higher specs than consumer PC currently on the market or will be on the market for many months, unless you count SLI cards where you buy two $500 cards which split the rendering tasks in two. As someone else mentioned, the cost of buying the next gen (not yet available) enthusiast 3D card from ATI or NVidia that matches the power of XBox's card would be at least $500 on its own, likely higher.

According to leaked specs, the 3d card in XBox is higher than the current highest performance 3d cards on the market, having more than double the current pipelines for pixel and vertex shaders. Although the 3d card only has 10 mbs of dedicated memory, that memory is high speed RAM used sparingly by the game, and also has direct access to the L2 cache memory on the CPU, as well as unified memory architecture so system and video remory are one and the same. This means that if the Xbox has 512 megs of ram, it can be considered 512 of video ram, higher than anything out there. Although of course it has to be shared with the rest of the game's memory, it can be allocated and used as needed.

The system has 3 3ghz CPUs, normal PCs only have one. This is nearly 3 times as fast as a typical high end computer if you went out and bought a P4 3 ghz machine right now.

There's nothing ordinary about the Xbox if those specs are true - it kicks the crap out of any PC you can currently buy. Obviously though, within 8 months that will no longer be the case. Still, fixed hardware systems like consoles can always be pushed to further limits than PC games because they can be optimized for the specific system.

Yoda's sign

Not the rasdesign Yoday sign, but the one on the phone booth looks like Yoda is holding a piece of paper with some writing on it. I wonder what that says.
