afterdark Hey there, I'm new to this site and not really a game player so please don't shout if I'm breaking some rules, but I have something you might be interested in.
I went to a Stella film event in Birmingham a few weeks ago and in the programme was a loose page with a print of a butterfly on it and "Advertising solutions to meet your needs" and "Hornchurch Star" on the other side. My friends programme didn't have it in his. However, it was the same butterfly print that all our hands were stamped with when we got in.
I've been quite curious about this as it didn't relate to any films at the festival, so I googled "Hornchurch Star" today and found their website and this one too. I sent them an email asking what was going on, and haven't yet had a reply. Having read this site, I understand that they are not real and that it's all for a game. But I must admit I'm now pretty curious. This Unforum appeared second on Google, and having read for about 2 hours now and guessed that you might be interested in the page like I am.
Any ideas with what to do with it? I've tried typing butterfly into various sites I've found but nothing has worked. I don't want to miss out (or look stupid).

interesting Seems stella is still advertizing the ARG. ... Maybe there is more to the
flier you found.
Any chance you could get it scanned into Gif format and uploaded so we can take a look?

the second picture is of the grid in the final puzzle.
obviously the butterfly symbol appears in that position with the value of '17'
did you see any more flyers while you were there?
maybe some with different symbols on them?

ok, i'm now thinking along the route of prime numbers.
17 is a prime number. prime numbers are considered 'pure'.
i remember that during the soul worth test it mentioned something about pure maths or something like that. prime numbers could be the key.
the prime numbers are 2, 3, 5, 7, 11, 13, 17, 19, 23, 29, 31 etc
we still don't know the order of the symbols, but the fact that the butterfly is positioned in that space correlates to the order they appear in on HWAU.
the order would be
(star)
raven
fire
trident
butterfly (17)
snake
dog
just working logically here.....
EDIT: there are also 17 butterflies on the wall of the Director of Acquisitions office in the photo ad.

nope didn;t see any other ones... my mates got the programmes too and there was definitely nothing in them - thats how i noticed it - sorry!

Man, and there I was thinking this had gone cold.....that you found that flyer would suggest the clues for the rest of the puzzle are out there somewhere. Finding them might be a problem - is there any way we can get a message out to people who were at the event, see if anyone else was given similar flyers?
And out of interest, how long ago was it, donnied? Just so we know what kind of timescale we're looking at - how recently we can say for certain that this thing's still going.

however, this does seem strange as we have to number and order the symbols from most precious to least, and I presume that the butterfly is the most precious! anyway....

it was April 13th ... doubt there were any others at the event as I made a point of having a look at the others I could see cause i though it might be part of a film ... details of the event are at http://www.ad05.com where I got tickets
it must be designed by that Marlowe web agency as they did last year's site
