Yes, the first box I see now. No dot. I'm fighting allergies today.

As for the word at the bottom, I don't know what the first letter is. I just don't think "V" would be closed at the top.

I'm going back to bed. Have fun guys. Rolling Eyes

Re: Translation issues

The second box I've translated as fmap. The last symbol seems to correspond with the p in the center of the key moreso than it does with the x in the opposite key because it has a box around it.

Could the symbol be an "O"? It seems unusual that an O would be left out. So could the center box contain 3 symbols?

P C* and O (denoted by an X in its center)?

I also noticed that the compass the figure is holding looks like an upside down A so I rotated the page and interpreted the symbols. What I got is also meaningless but here it is:

H A K R A

A _ _ N

A X (or P) S Q

K G I B

L A S R

T I E T L

This is probably a silly endeavor. These symbols can be read sideways too.

the grid numbers, then, would be
4-15-6-11-5-24
42-1-21-10-2-01 (note the weirdness of that last "01". it bugs me)
...
8-11-15-31-58- .

What if the dots were simply a way of coloring the grid to give a msg?
No luck:

XOXOXO
...

Don't forget the letters around the edge of the page, the top line is a-z, but the sides and bottom are laid out cipher fashion. Note also that there is one fewer of each of the corner letters (i.e. does double duty in a row and a collumn) so there is only 100 letters total, not 104 you would expect from 4 alphabets.
The string of numbers could also be described as base 9 couldn't they, 0-8?

I also ran the dots as binary and morse, but came up empty on that as well.

Another 90 degrees, and you've got it.

Woah...you're onto something. I rotated the page 180 degrees, and now the bottom (sixth) box that we translated as lawia reads "truth".

I have to examine the rest more closely!

I like it Cem,
I will add one comment:
because of the fuzziness of translating from language to language

The Wish Transforms the Heart
and the Heart Transforms the Stones.

I wonder if the line could also be translated:
The wish transforms the heart,
the heart turns to stone...

well... multiple ways it could be read, and might it not be an explaination for why Don Marzano is a "bad" guy... his heart is turned into "stone," i.e. uncaring, unfeeling?

SOLVE? Vates Manuscript Page

A few of us were working on the Vates page after I noticed the upside-down truth symbols. Gupfee came up with the idea to

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
cut out the symbol boxes and fold it into a cube

After we did that, Tartanwolf spec'd that perhaps

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
it should be read across, starting with the symbol for F and going around the cube with truth on the top and bottom of the cube

We came up with a message that wasn't quite right. I thought perhaps there were some small mistakes. Maybe a dot was missing from one of the letters and we interpreted one of the symbols incorrectly. I guessed it was supposed to read

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Find_the_haven_of_truth

Gupfee reminded me that

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Dale found a few minor mistakes in Sarah's manuscript pages

as per his email. So, wishchasers, I think we have at least a partial solve for this manuscript!

Nice teamwork, ladies!

Pam Phensley has the blue boardered page with the symbols.

Enaxor has the black boardered page

sjct has the other puzzle page with the grid (unsolved)

Myssfitz has the First Dream page

That's it so far I think.

Why are you saying sjct's page is unsolved? It's the Vates page which yielded the truth haven site (scroll up a few posts).

I don't think we've seen Pam's page here yet.

Has the others been solved by CD?

Pam's Page

I believe the page Pam got is this one:
http://www.aglauranj.org/manuscriptpage.html

It was the first one that came from the trunk.

I said it was unsolved because I got sjct's page mixed up with Myssfitz's page Smile It's the First Dream grid puzzle that hasn't been solved.

Pam hasn't posted since she received the page. She never posted a pic anywhere as far as I can tell but the link sjct provided above is a picture of the page she received from Phyllis.
