Dear Sunny,
Have you heard what they are going to do? Something called Mount Analogue is going to build on the site of the old ashram! I wanted to scream, you're going to let evil live here! It wasn't even clear what they do or what use will be applied in their new facilities. Something about "rejuvenation." Are there any endangered species in the area? Can we find a way to block them on environmental grounds? Oh, just guess who's building it? I can't believe Pat would let these shady characters get a deeper grip on our town! Do you suppose Todd is on the Board of Directors? I don't know what to do.

OK, give me a moment to put on my rabid enviromentalist mask....

First they will have to do an environmental impact study since it is in a current wilderness area, which should include the impact of building feeder roads and anticipated attendance (cars mean smog, darlings), plus I'd get someone out there who knows a bit about palentology and archaology to take a look at the area, if they find historically significant arifacts (arrowheads, fossils and such) the site can be protected, or building delayed until the area is excavated and studied.

 		Living on Long Island and within the Pine Barren system I can tell you fighting to stop them should be based on clean water.

The pines root system is an integral part of filtering the Aquifers from which we pump our water. removing any trees will further hamper an already over loaded system. Besides the current pollutants, NJ and LI are former farming regions that have left pesiticde poisoning that the trees will probably need to work centuries to eliminate. I believe this agruement can hold up construction for years.

Now who will be the lawyer who will notify the mayor and the home page news that they must cease and desist untill further study is done??????
