Ambiguity is quite the lifestyle, huh? Let's, just this week during that big date, lay our cards on the table once and for all. See where the ride takes us.
Seems that there's going to be a "big date" this week
Maybe the shops start selling Puzzlecards?
How 'bout laying our Puzzlecards on the table ?
So, do you actually have to buy these cards from the physical location of the shops or are they online "virtual stores"? And are we talking real world money here?

Crisis much? It's faith vs. reason right here in the nest, folks. What would Ockham do?

Well, in the UK there's Firebox and Playlounge, so it would appear you can do both (just as well, cos £30 on the train just to get some playing cards is a little steep for me....). Might I suggest doing a quick search before asking stuff like this that's probably already on the forums somewhere

Seems like a reference to Ockham's Razor, which essentially states that if there's a simple answer and a more complicated one, chances are the simple one is correct. Incidentally, not a popular point of view with religious and spiritual people *cough* fortune tellers *cough* for fairly obvious reasons.
The faith vs reason mention could be a direct reference to another part of Occam's life, where he spent a good deal of time being rude about the pope (he was a Fransican at around the time "The Name of the Rose" was set, which has loads of political background). I don't think that Occam concluded that faith and reason were mutually exclusive though...more that each had their own place (any philosphers out there?...no, not you dopefiend those without cannabinoid enhancement:P )
The futures aren't getting any more useful are they? We're missing something...
I think its just homage to 'Contact' which is all about the faith versus reason issue (and Carl Sagan's ultimate conclusion that they are not mutually exclusive in any event).

Seej...we're both right...he moved to Germany and changed the spelling to Occam from Ockham. . I'm just more used to the other one.

Hey! Some of the worlds greatest minds have been inspired by the herb! many of us will be at the Legalization Rally in Trafalgar Square on Sunday. It'll be a sort of philosopher's convention!

dopefiend - you want evil - at warwick (where I am) if you get caught with any amount of cannabis on campus, you get evicted from your on campus acccomodation and have to leave within 2 weeks (breaking tenancy laws which require 4 weeks notice).
After a students union vote (the first since 2000 which reached quorum (the number of people necessary for a vote to automatically count without needing to go through a committee)) which said that we wanted the university to look at the rules again, and a suggested change to a 1 warning (possibly with fine) system. The university simply ignored us. Bastards.
So yeah, long story short, XXXXXX, Warwick University is bad.

Jeb- are you forgetting I as at warwick only a couple of years ago! I remember the good old days of hanging out my Jack Martin window with a fat reefer so the smell wouldn't reach the warden!! But the beauty was the last month of my first year- as the have to give you a months notice before kicking you out of halls, they couldn't touch us in the last month!
Leamington was much more chilled though! you'll enjoy it next year. make sure you go along to the peace festival!

Jeb, please don't tell me you thought that smoking weed was something that only students and gangsta rappers do?!
In my time, i've smoked with people from such completely diverse backgrounds and cultures, including doctors, lawyers, a policeman and one of my old bosses. I used to score of this guy who was over-60, who told me that once a week an friend of his who was over-70 used to come round from the local old people's home to get their weekly supply.
In other words, you wouldn't believe the number of people who smoke dope in the UK (and probably the rest of the world too). Some of us just don't advertise it as widely, that's all

Your actions last week infuriated me. Organ donation: consider it. Soon.
I'm a Hand, and I got a letter in the mail this week about giving blood.
Strange? Maybe. But on the envelope they put "WE WANT YOUR BLOOD" (which got me excited 'cause I thought it was a death threat.. alas..), infuriated sounding? Maybe so.

Guys,
I respect your right to enjoy whatever mind-altering illicit substances you like in private - I don't think this is an appropriate forum to air your support for what is still an illegal drug. There are people on this forum and others viewing it who may be too young to make their own informed decisions about drugs. Also you never know whether people are real Inspectors or just have it as a tag line. With ref to the mods, can we keep this forum drug-free please.....
