Does this mean Holyoke had something to do with the killing of the pedestrian?

But why?

in order to neatly tie together all the deaths we've had reported so far as being something related to the academy and therefore possibly something to do with the cube/earth research? its always fun when everything comes together! hmm methinks we need a different jessica to help us here...

rach =)

I think there two likely posibilities concerning the Holyoke's death. 1) Someone killed him and then planted the hight tech equipment at his house 2) His death was in no way related to him having the equipment, and his accomplises, who ever they are, are really worried right now. The second one makes more ense to me. If you did dump a bunch of hot equipment at someones house, killing them would simply draw the cops attention to all of the victims associates, probably including the guilty party. (unless Holyoke didn't know the killer Shocked ) And I think Jessica is inocent. An estranged wife killing a husband just seems to obvious. Another possibility is a 'lite ninja assasin is hunting down those responsable for stealing the cube! (hmm, check Sente's bank account for large withdrawls recenty?) Wink

Nice [spec] they'realloutogetme
I'll ad another of the many possabilities...
Or it could be that someone hired Holyoke to steal the cube, gave him the equipment to help him out and now that Holyoke isn't useful and knows to much he's been silenced...

I'll throw some more [SPEC] on the fire..

Maybe Holyoke as the bar owner overheard someone in his establishment talking about stealing the cube. Perhaps those people realized and had to get rid of him. They then realized it'd be a great place to ditch all of their cube-stealing equipment to frame the now dead bar owner. Perhaps they also thought he may have told his estranged wife and they had to go after her too, which explains why no one knows her whereabouts.

In the article it mentions that the academy are "conducting an internal investigation", this must mean that it appears to be an inside job.

Also, the bar is called the five of cups, which is a tarot card that represents loss. This may be a little fun on behalf of the Perplex City team or maybe I'm reading too much into it (is that even possible where the cube is concerned?).
