[UPDATE] May 12 - The Scarlett Kite - New Entry

Quote:
Just in case you guys forget (I know I'd forget....), that programme about MC and Perplex City is being broadcast tonight. Here's the link to them again.

Also... seems like a perfect time to give my explanation of keys! So the Earthology guy at the Academy, Von, said that you should think of them as a combination of: "a phone, a TV, a video, a computer, a stereo, an MP3 player, a bank card, a passport, a house key..." and some other things he couldn't think of a good analogy for. And, um, mine's red with a little kite logo on it.

Von if I'm not much mistaken is who we text for clues on the cards.

Has anyone had a reply to a text for clues on the cards?

To be honest I haven't seen anyone discuss even trying this - the solves were done pretty quick...

Hmm. That key thing is kinda interesting. Every single electronic gadget we can possibly think of, plus a few more, shoved into one little thing. Nifty. So when are they gonna start selling them over here again? =P

She doesn't mention how big they are - must be smallish to be carried everywhere. If it replaces tv, then unless they don't mind small screens, it must have the ability to beam data into your mind. Implies personal link with brain - how else would you stop someone just stealing yours and doing whatever. Very interesting!

You can see a couple of keylike objects in the pictures on this page. Indeed, small screens are on display. Of course, no one has ever said they don't have TV's... perhaps like the iPod docks that allow you to play your MP3s through speakers, their TV's have similar ports or whatnot.

But yeah, losing your key = losing your music, house keys, credit cards, mobile and passport. In fact, almost exactly like what happened to me a month ago. Damn you, shady minicab firms!

Hmm... I get the feeling that there could be a kind of sneaky product placement kind of thing going on here. The key seems to be a souped-up version of a PDA/phone hybrid - sort of like a Gizmondo, but hopefully a lot more powerful. Is it possible that this could be a part of the whole setup - to launch a new media handset?

Makes me really, really want to get a key! Rock On

Apparently they are planning to release a phone add on for the PSP in the future (along with web browser) - starting to sound like a key already (although not cutsomisable, damnit)

if it is a launch for 'keys' then the kind soul that finds the cube and gets the reward should, say, buy one for us on uf. Very Happy
