Find it. Find it. Find it. Don't contribute into the game, if you don't think so. I mean, they almost hinted that people would try and find their apartment, and they didn't beg and plead for us not to. Also, if they wouldn't want us to try and find the apartment, then why let the camera crew film outside the door? Why post a picture on the early stages of the site? Since all of this is supposedly in-game, surely it's not "peeking behind the curtain" to find an in-game real world location?

I concur, I say we find MC HQ for 2 reasons
1) they said that people are going to try to find it, then did the zoomy bit into the background - someone with a dvd recorder get pics of that please Smile

2) they said they are not the PMs - thus they are not behind the curtain, thus we can hound them as much as we desire Smile

Not seen the show yet - I'm gonna go watch the tape shortly. If anyone missed it it's repeated later tonight, around about 11pm. Alternatively, for those not in the UK, *cough* I get the feeling you'll be able to get hold of a copy soon enough..... Wink

EDIT: As for finding the location of MC, equally I think it's a good idea. Sadly, whois and netcraft aren't giving anything useful (one, a proxy registration, the other some anonymous server on an IP in the US). Traceroute was equally uninformative, and I don't see a real address or phone number on the site anywhere. Hmmm, guess I'll have to try something else.

OKay. I submit to your challenge.

So lets say we do work out where MC is. (which is likely to happen quite soon now we have more info). My second point still stands. What are we gonna do?

What will we ask them? Should we be making a list of questions now so we are ready for the meet?

Get you're thinking caps on guys, not that it will take us all very long to come with about a thousand q's we want answers to!

Anyone notice the map on his desktop?

Wasn't the map on his desktop a bit from the tourist guide? I only sort of half caught it, and have only skimmed the tourist guide on the wiki - wasn't it the mappy pictures joined together?

I'm glad everyone spotted the balcony, I thought I was imagining clues...although I'm not convinced that was the same one and I wouldn't put it past them to have hired offices for the day in Slough. I get the feeling that they were playing with us (which after all is their job) and sadly they aren't based in Liverpool.

Just to add though, Jeb..VERY nice, most puissant, a little bit Oxbridge at one point, but that's just sour grapes on my part Wink

geo..think you're right, he looked like he was selcting bits to excise for the backs of cards. If someone can capture that it would help Mima and POTUS no end!

There is a possibility that the video will come up on Scarlett's blog.
Maybe the PMs have made a deal with BBC.

In my very humble opinion, this is a terrible, terrible idea. There is a reason that their site is registered privately, and that they do not list their address or even phone number on their site. These people are working on a game (even though there is no game, blah blah, but, come on - we're all semi-reasonable/sane adults here), and I'm sure they don't want to be bothered by hundreds of players suddenly showing up at their door demanding to see Violet's photograph. I mean, think about it - if finding them for OOG purposes was something they condoned, they'd have made it more available (like they did with the E3 exhibit in LA). If you want to find them for in-game purposes... what do you hope to achieve? Do you actually hope to be given any in-game information that exists only at their office? Do you think that there are actual physical game clues at that location? It doesn't even make any sense... Instead, it looks more like trying to rip the curtain - and violently so, or like some sort of PM hunt... and what would succeding in that accomplish, besides annoying the PMs and forcing them to spend time on trying to protect their privacy, instead of making the game?

I know the PMs made themselves in-game, but please, use your common sense - the type of work they do, by its nature, is highly secretive; don't you think that if they wanted the public to be able to just barge in to their office, they would have made that intent abundantly clear?

I doubt she reads it - I reckon Colin Lennox does (the guy who did the filming) but I doubt the presenter really cares

Maybe they did that because they are in the process of moving offices? Or setting up a false trail? Certainly they are not inviting anyone to invade their privacy.

I haven't seen the show. What do you mean they are not behind the curtain? There is a curtain here...um, you know, Perplex City isn't real. Someone is creating all that stuff that is supposed to be from Sente, etc. Or is your position that they are creating everything- all the information at Sente's direction? Again, you may recall, Sente isn't real. Wink

If I agreed for argument's sake that there is no curtain, I would still ask what basis do you claim that gives you the right to "hound them"? No person ever has the right to hound any person, PM or not. That is why the law of restraining orders was developed. And, why would you want to? The most you could accomplish is making them angry- what purpose would that serve? How does that help you in playing their game?

Heh, I can see this post could unintentionally spark a tedious META discussion of curtain v. no curtain; in-game and out, etc. Well if it does, have fun with it.

Okay, the hounding was a joke, I hate when people take me seriously. However, the point I was trying to make is that although the PMs are the PMs, to the in-game extent they are not - yes, in-game sente exists, and all the information is coming from his end. So, with the PMs being in game, surely that means that they are not off-limits to email, ask questions etc? I agree that there may not be much point to finding them, however it would be interesting to know where MC were based, and maybe to speak with the PMs in an IG way - maybe asking questions like how did sente first get in touch with you? Did MC start because of sente's communication, or was MC comtacted by sente after the company was founded? The fact that they explicitly said "there will be people online who will try to find out the location of the office from the window" - which at that point we could not see anything out of because of the focussing, followed by the camera focussing on the outside, says to me that there must be something to gather from their location.

Sorry about the length of that paragraph, and sorry if I ruffled a few feathers (yanka)...

And having seen the repeat just now, I agree that that balcony was probably the skyline photo Smile

I agree, they wouldn't have shown us the balcony before and filmed at the office if we weren't suppose to find it.
They most likely don't use the office but have left some clue there.

Apparently that was their real office, according to ^oo^ on the chat room, who apparently knows someone or something in some way behind the curtain. Possibly.

Erm, yeah.
