lol, I'd just transcribed that too. D'oh!

Anyway, I'm feeling quite proud of myself for solving "picpicpic.jpg" Smile Here it is in all it's gory glory:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
The vertical bars represent letters of the alphabet, A-z. There are 2 extra, god knows why. The black bars are representations of where a particular letter comes in the word. So the top bar in the third column is the first letter, and a "c".

The word spelled out is "conjoined"

So its twins we are dealing with hmmmm.... Good solve though, i had discounted it being an alphabet because of the 28 lines! Wont do that again!

Ergo....

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
It's a part of the blacked out clipping.

This part:
Gfvt ovq Vlevnar Iexhosf fszr frtb gx kmyp-vvoamwvt tdtsacg, Iexkwf nwr Kuvluhvws qa 1851.

Matches with this part from the clipping:
Erik and Richard Artemes were born to well-standing parents,
Arthur and Christine in 1851.

But as you can see....it's not simple sub.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Its a Vigenere using conjoined as the key:

Erik and Richard Artemes were born to well-standing parents, Arthur and Christine in 1851. The two boys were born joined at the wrist; Eric's right hand was Richard's left. As they were born in otherwise perfect health, their parents then decided to have them separated. But who would have the hand? Eric got it, and as the boys grew, this proved to be a terrible mistake.

Ok, who wants the solve for the numbers? You do? Well, here you go then Smile

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
The numbers are base 5, a straight conversion from that to base 10 to the alphabet gives us this:

"hutwhavewehotgere

givegtbackrichard

gonzirlsdaveharies

itsnotadgarz

theniranceadit

givegtba"

Which, with a little tidying, becomes

"what have we got here?

Give it back Richard"

[no idea what this is supposed to be]

it's not a dgarz [?]

then I ran cead [?] it

Give it ba..."

Oh yah, I feel good Very Happy

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
I think it should read:

Richard: What have we got here?

Eric: Give it back richard!

Richard: Only girls have diaries

Eric: Its not a diary

Richard: Then i can read it!

Eric: Give it back!

Just got an email from Layla:

Quote:
HI Rusesell!

A few people have been emailing me since Mr. Morgan started his investigation. I didn't even know when I went to him that his site had that many hits! (Its seemed kinda empty)

So, the tarot cards were some kind of cryptic message? That is weird! I hesitate to say it but 'why me?' My uncle never mentioned any of this funny business.... not that I saw him very often.

As for other strange occurences, well, there was more knocking last night when I came home from work. I'd almost say it was like someome climbing stairs, except it sounds more like they're falling DOWN them. ...in slow motion. I don't know. All this stuff really disturbs me. Is there anything I ought to be looking for? Maybe stuff is happening and I don't evn notice it (okay now I'm spooking mylsef out)

Thanks,

Layla

There are lots of mistakes in it, but i cant make out a message?

And one from James:

Quote:
Hello again Rus,

Well, it certainly seems like you HAVE been busy. I've reviewed all your findings and they do match up. So, it apears what we're dealing with here is a bit of 'seperation anxiety'.

Well, sorry if that was in poor taste.

I find it rather disturbing that my email is sending things of it's own accord. And hidden in lorem ipsum no less. I've never heard of a gaemyne. It looks a little like 'gethsemane'.. or wait. No it dosn't/ Sorry. I'm driving to Layla's this afternoon, so we should have a little more tangible evidnce in the next day or so.

Thanks for all your hard work.

J Morgan

Again a few mistakes but nothing i can see straight off

Beware, hererin lies wild speccing.

Ok, so, it seems that if we had to pick a good and evil twin, Richard would be the evil one. Eric got the hand, so that would make Richard jealous? And eventually try to kill Eric? It is Eric's bloody handprint on the conjoined page.

Googled "gethsemane":

Gethsemani (Hebrew gat, press, and semen, oil) is the place in which Jesus Christ suffered the Agony and was taken prisoner by the Jews.

Don't know if it helps.. at least I didn't know that.. Smile

Sorry for the Interuption

Oh, good. A game that I can sink my teeth into. I used to be a Paranormal Investigator so I'm really looking forward to this. I'll go back to reading now. Just wanted to say "Hello". Oh, and my real name is Eric... I wonder if that's a bad thing? Anyway...

*Side note* is there an IRC channel for this? I hate just joining and not knowing things yet. Makes me look really stupid. Embarassed

Ooh, just worked out that Artemis (OK it's a letter different from the the twin's names, but what the heck) is the virgin god of the moon, and twin sister of Apollo. She is the gosddess of nature and hunting, and in some cities of fertility. Apollo is the god of prophecy, poetry and dance type stuff.

Don't know what bearing this has to do with anything, but it is interesting Smile

What could this mean

5/13/05 01:09 pm - G 4 9

Anyone notice or think anything was unusual about this on Layla's newest blog entry?

Totally. I have no idea what it refers to though. Do you think the spaces are important? Imean, as opposed to saying G49, it's G 4 9. Curiouser and curiouser...
