Dot Grids in video and on ourcolony.net

Already posted this on the teamxbox forums, but wanted to share. The dot grids in the video are all the same, but get a few columns longer each time. The final one looks like this:

I don't understand. How did you get from the numbers in the columns to the letters and their order? (This is why I'm not any good at these games. Sad )

If you look at the first set, you get the letters to decode the second. For example, take the first 2012 going down in the second set. If you look back at the first set, and find 2012 going down, you see that it's the 'O'. Same for the next- 1102 is the second column. If you look back at the first, you get 'U'. See?

I guessed that each column of numbers represented a letter, and started looking for patterns (eg, "2012", vertically, is "O"). My first guess was ourcolonydotnet, or something equally mundane, but it didn't quite fit. But the first, fifth, and seventh columns were identical (where the O's would be), so I tried filling in the remaining letters from there. Some I had to totally guess on, like the W and Rs, but they worked.

Funny thing is, the key was in the video, but that took me longer to crack. I was guessing the web site one would be the key, not the other way around. I used the conversions from the website to start that one, and just noticed that the letters I filled in were all ascending towards the right.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that they could possibly use the OurColony site for the release date of Xbox 360. That would make the most sense at least and would fulfill the promise that it will return.

Is the sequence that is on OC right now the same that was on there before the change? If not, maybe we should try using the key to decode that I know the background also had this sequence. Just a thought. If anyone knows of a cached OC front page, I'll do it.

You guys need to stop digging for something you wont find.

The very first post is a perfect example of code breaking.

Find the key, solve the cipher, get a relevant message, end of story, just give the first guy credit for getting it right Very Happy.
