Ok, so what's up with the Halo 3 release for this year?!? Since Bungie has stated before that the next title they are working on is not Halo 3, then they must have been working on Halo 2 and 3 simultaniously (or they just out right lied to their fans). Didn't they see The Matrix 2 and 3 and figure out working like this produces crappy product? Smile

I've always been weary of wireless controllers. To me, wireless controllers I've used before always seem to have a noticeable lag when compared to wired controllers. I like the idea of not having to wory about cord length and getting them all tangled up, but having even just a fraction of a second lag is totally unexceptable. I hope the xbox guys have figured this out.

Overall it looks pretty slick. I'm surprised at how they crammed all those parts into that case because it looks a good deal smaller than the xbox 1. All I want to see now are some in-game videos...

Who already knows what they want for the holidays? Smile

Ever use a wavebird for the Gamecube?

Those are wireless controllers done RIGHT. I've never noticed any lag with wavebirds.

Engadget has a rundown of the MTV show here.

But the Halo 3 stuff I saw was in a scanned xbox 360 article from a german gaming magazine. Again, engadget has the lowdown on that right here.

There was no Halo 3 stuff on the show. They DID have Ghost Recon 3 though. Maybe it was someone projecting their desires into the article.

I was disappointed that they didn't get into more details about the system and some of the new features that might be offered. The PD0 shots were nice but they wasted 15 minutes just talking to the people who were going to play the game. They could have had the people talking while showing more in game video. Alas, MTV has been worthless since the last days of Nina Blackwood and Martha Quinn.

PD0 looks awesome, I used to play the crap out of the first one on N64. And 50 players? Oh man...

Of course the best question is will Elvis make his return?

Used to play?
I still do Razz

The farsight is the best weapon ever created in a game.

I heard something about 100+ player matches for some game or other on the 360... must find that now. (Maybe an FSW type game, GR3 perhaps)

I haven't eather.

Also about the Matrix 2/3 sucking cus they were done at the same time( i liked the 2nd one the most of the 3).... you can do it right. Look at lotr the 3 movies filmed at the same time and they all were good. They just tulk 3 years in getting them all out... and they were making all the final tuch ups. Maybe that is what Bungie is doing... but it doesn't sound like them.

I stopped in my local EB today to buy a game. While there, I noticed a handwritten sign that they're taking preorders for the 360. I asked the guy working about a price point.

Brace yourselves.

$500.

There goes any chance I had of affording one this fall. I was so shocked that I forgot to ask about a release date.

In addition, he claimed that each EB would only be able to take 20 preorders for the system. That seems extremely low to me.

But I'll take all this with a grain of salt. I asked the guy if that was the price for the hard drive version, and he replied very confidently that there would be no hard drive at all in the 360. Um.... I just let that one slide, didn't feel like arguing with him.

But $500? geeze, that'll seriously hurt sales among us younger, less established types.

hehehe.

Take a closer look at the prototype model, and mess with what almost looks like a mister-cheif drawing at Xbox360.com
