My partner Tremere found out that the prices on items on the receipt ...

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
can be decoded to say, "ASK LIME PLU" (a code for produce items).

I called, asked for Jacob, and was told the plu on limes is 4048.

This leads to 4048.htm. Enjoy. Razz

Here's that strip on the left of the
Spoiler (Rollover to View):

site. To me, looks like a strip of text that had the top and bottom cut off, and rotated either 90 or 270 degrees (so I've posted it one way, and upside-down). The one I labelled as "one.jpg" looks like it would be right to me, but who knows. Maybe it has something to do with another Frost poem?

That email in reference to the strip on the left of the bitmap.

Does part of the string look like it could be the middle of the word 'seek'?

Oooooh. This looks brilliant. Hooray, I'm jumping on board. ((Everyone: Groan. Why us?)) I shall e-mail Layla in the morning, I suppose, to make my (somewhat useless, yes, I'm aware) presence known.

Anyway. *yawns* Until the morning.
~Mossy the Somewhat Useless

PS- *snickers* I wonder if Jacob down at the store was confused by the phone calls at all. Ah well.

Alright, so each of the three .bmps obtained by getting the produce PLUs had some text on it. Here it is, all together:

Quote:
You must believe this. Once two princes were born far away in china, Tai Yushu and Tai Miashu Each of the princes had a hundred peacocks and a hundred yards of silk, fifty maids and fifty wisemen. Each prince wore an exquisite robe and had a beautiful crown. But together they had only one heart.

The Emperor Tai Midau looked on his sons and he was full of grave concern. But Midau was a lord of much cunning and he knew what he must do. He called his sons to him and said to them, "You must believe this. Maishu you know only chaos, Yushu you know but order. These jade bracelets are as one. Wear them, and you shall know peace.

Therefore Maishu felt only fear and greed, sadness and hate, while Yushu felt only courage and charity joy and love. Maishu hated his brother, but Yushu loved him despite this. When they would ride into the village on their fine horses, all the people would stop and say, "You must believe this! There are princes who are an angel and a demon!"

I left all the grammatical errors and such in there. Anyway, each segment contains the phrase "You must believe this!" Which seems to be a connection to the site's "believe" dishpan pic.

Okay, I just figured it out:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Take the code from the strips of text (rvyeyhxseeqsisyizgrvydmzmn) and use a Vignere with the key as "youmustbelievethis" and you get theseperationofbrothershtm, or http://www.freewebs.com/morganparanormal/theseperationofbrothers.htm.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
And in the SC:
5 17 05 00 00

Which I'm guessing is May 17th/05 at midnight

I was going to post something earlier, but something came up. Could I respectfully ask that those in chat post the puzzle and the solution? It seems every time I make it to the boards there is a new solve, but no explanation of where it came from or how it was achieved.

Not everyone hangs out in chat, I for one never have....

So how did the prices translate? Where are the other 2 bmps located? Did you have to call for a new PLU for each receipt?

And I would also suggest that when posting an email from Layla or Morgan, you take out the other people's email addresses, as not everyone wants their addy posted in public.

Very Happy (All said in a respectfully requestful tone ) Very Happy

-------------------------------------------------
So the bin said...in order:

Forever
Believe
The Lie
Frost

Again from Frost's In A Disused Graveyard

-------------------------------------------------

The numbers (not in the original file name) were:

077
11
111
07

-------------------------------------------------

The mistakes in one of Morgan's emails spells anir.
RAIN?

-------------------------------------------------

And I'm curious still about the names of the other bmps. Maybe the numbers mean something, and all that's listed here is the:

122

-------------------------------------------------

And if someone could lend a hand, I can't for the life of me get any "limes" out of this (it's late)...lol:

I'm pretty new to ARGs, though (as others have said about themselves) I've been lurking through parts of other games. Right now I'm on a road trip and won't be back and able to play for a week or so really (people seem to solve these so fast). It's kind of depressing. But thus far this seems to be a pretty awesome game.

Looking forward to playing with you all-
Corwin
