I just finished getting the pictures from my cards. I created a flickr account, but the limit is kinda low. I'll reduce size of some pics and post there, but I won't be able to post all, at high rez ... If anyone knows a better way to do this, let me know.

Hey all -

My pictures are currently uploading as we speak! I'll be sorting them into groups later, and I'll see about starting a group JUST for the hivemeet. I know I also have more than a few "art" pictures in my set, so not all of them are of peeps.

If anyone has pictures they need hosted, I have a pro flickr account, and I'm up to les than 10% of my limit, so I'd be more than happy to figure out a way to get your pictures up there if you need space.

Edit: Oh yeah, you might want an address as to where to see them....

Ok. I just uploaded some pics. Take a look at my flickr account. I didn't change anything on the pics, just size. Some could use photoshop skills, which I might try later.

Oh good, and did everybody enjoy the Fogo?

Fogo was awesome. Everything tastes better when it's wrapped in bacon. The play would've been more than worth it without the red balloons and queen bees. Those just put it over the top. Karaoke was painful, but in a good way.

So much more good stuff that I'll get around to posting later. For now, I'd just like to say special thanks to Astrovanman for the rides and to Spie for getting completely disoriented along with me - and to everyone else who helped make this the fantistic weekend that it was.

Yeah, I enjoyed karaoke. Especially because I realized that I didn't remember how the songs went exactly, aaaand I sang anyway. Well, crooned. That was a lot of fun though, I'm pretty sure I'm going to default to a Jinx version of "Fly me to the Moon" whenever I think of that song.

Links to pictures?
To be perfectly honest, I mostly only got TPS shots, because everyone else was hypervigilant in regards to photo shooting. I'll definitely be linking what I have once it's up, though. Smile

Just a quick post that I'm just back home (well, for an hour anyway) and barely awake. Whee, the meet was FUN! But tiring. But FUN! But tiring. Mmmzzzzzz-uh? What?! Oh.

It was great meeting everyone (or, for those at Fogo, perhaps that typo "meating" I just corrected was more appropriate) and my only regret is that it couldn't have gone on longer!

I have an ungodly number of pictures but there's tons of repeats and bad shots and stuff I took while gawping at rilly-rilly tall buildings. I'll do a triage and get the pertinent ones up somewhere tomorrow when I can see straight again.

In the mean time, enjoy the attached picture.

I'm so glad to be looking away from the camera AND stuffing my face full of meat in that pic. Smile

And OMG winter Hivemeet in Phoenix! It's perfect!

My Hivemeet pictures are uploading to Fotki, now. I queued up the pictures that have not been previously uploaded, first. They have about 3 hours to go, but you can preview the album here:

Chicago Hivemeet 2005

All of the full size pictures are at original resolution, so they will be 2-3MB each. Don't worry; you have to drill down through a couple of links before you have to wait for one of those to download.

I had a marvelous time, and I loved taking so many pictures of you all. Some of them are really quite nice. I wish I had taken more. Of course, I really wish I had Water10's camera; his pictures rocked!

Election: Hivemeet honor of noogie'ing Clayfoot until he cries
This election is closed. Oh, dear; I forgot to post the results on time.*tsk, tsk* Must be slipping...

Election Results

There were two choices tied for first, one of which was a write-in!
1. Tied:
Obviously, the cutest girl at the Hivemeet should get to do it.
No noogie, we'll just sick Durga on him

Check out the detailed results. Some voters had very strong opinions about the choices.

for the next meet, can I offer up Niagar Falls? Wink how many people here haven't been there? *sigh*

I so wish I could have been there to meet everyone... I've been quite absent recently, and it sounds like the meet was a thing to remember Crying or Very sad looking through all the photos right now.

I'll meet up with y'all online again... I was looking for someone, hoping someone would be online this weekend, but alas, only the hardcore non-hivemeet regulars were online (and to boot, I was having network issues so I wasn't even able to play with them)... what a weekend... *sigh*

ah well
Great to hear you guys all had fun though! Wink
Keep sharing those stories Smile

I have no idea where I'll be living after this August, so pick a city for the potential next meet and I'll job search there in depth Smile

Well I can't add too much to what everyone else has said about the Hivemeet so far, but I will say that it was certainly worth me driving over 900 miles to get there. I am very greatful that Spie let me crash on his couch and that I got to meet all of you guys. I will post a few pictures as soon as I get back to Denton(right now I'm at my folks' house in North Dallas). I was personally overwelmed by the sheer size of the city. I never got used to all those people in confined spaces, especially when riding the 'L' at 2:30am. I think someone said they wished the hivemeet had been longer and I agree. I would like to have stayed longer and seen more sights, but I guess we all had our own little worlds to get back to. Again, this weekend was a blast, I'm glad I invested the time and the gas money.

hmmm...Hivemeet 2006 in Dallas anyone, anyone?

Columbus Ohio seemed alright last time I was there, though I don't know exactly what there is to do.

As a little gift to all those who attended the Game On exhibit at the museum, check this out:

http://www.computerspacefan.com/simulation.htm

Computer Space wasn't playable there, and it's un-emulateable due to it not using ROM chips or anything of that nature. However you can simulate it, and a sim for the game has been released on that site.

it also has Spacewar emulated, which is another awesome game I don't believe was playable.
