[QUESTION] Who is the mayor of Perplex City?

Should be a simple question... I can't find the answer to it.

Camryn Scott

The mayor is probably Camryn Scott. My reference is this article in the Sentinal found here.

The article text ("...If Camryn Scott and her cronies on the City Council...") sort if implies that Camryn Scott is on the Council. Another article (not accessible, but having an abstract on the current front page) seems to imply that a mayor (Ormand Durante, the mayor of Gladstone) is at odds with the City Council. The way it is written, it sounds like mayors are not on the Council, but are invited to its hearings--in other words, separate bodies. With this, I am going to hazard a guess that Camryn Scott is not a/the mayor.

There is only one possibility, if they are indeed a civilized society:

I will agree that there is the possibility that Camryn may not be the mayor, but I disagree that mayors are separate from councils. In Australia, a mayor is one of the people elected to council, they become mayor by council election. So the mayer is a part of the council. I assume that it is the same in England? The implication of the article is that Camryn is the leader of a group on the city council so I assume she is the mayor. I also say that Ormand is the Mayor of Gladstone which is a separate council area from the city council.

Staring me in the face

I am embarassed and happy to be trouted - it's staring us on the main page of the sentinel. Embarassed Bang Head

Quote:
Can Scott Hold it Together?
As the political scene begins to brace itself for the long, hard election cycle, analysts from economics to global sociology are chiming in on whether Scott can keep together a coalition of support for her policies through to the end of the year. Said former Council Leader Gerard Rawbones, "The last year of a Council Leader's term is typically unproductive, but nothing about Scott's current term has been typical."

So Camryn Scott isn't the mayor - but she's still the big cheese!!!

Can't find evidence that Gladstone is part of of PPC...could it be another city witha different type of local authority and PPC doesn't have a mayor (Camryn Scott being the closest thing)?

Whoever has the most Perplex City Points?
Then you compete in the PCAG, or the Council Games, become a legend without using Ceretin, and expand your influence through the pursuit of cube knowledge. You'll of course have a key to the city by then Wink
