So... I've been back since this morning, but haven't felt up to posting 'til now.

First off, thanks to everyone who came. You made the hivemeet real - and spectacular. It was a great weekend in Chicago, and it's because of you all that it was what it was. So, thanks. Smile

Secondly, I think an extra-special thank you for coordinating, planning and putting up with everything/everyone goes out to krystyn. You rock.

atdt, I think you win an award for "most likely to give out awards". And aren't you forgetting that I'm the one who actually found the place where you stood and uploaded pics with my PSP of l33tn3ss? Wink

I had an interesting day yesterday... woke up, laid around for a bit, showered, ate leftover Gino's pizza for breakfast, said goodbye to INCyr and Silrn and headed up to the aquarium for a couple of hours. I then strolled up through Millenium Park and up Michigan Ave. for a while and then took the bus back down to Union Station to catch the train back home. It was certainly an interesting time, and the aquarium was very cool, but the hivemeet itself was such a highlight the day itself almost felt dull in comparison.

I'll probably have more to write later - but just wanted to say something for now.

rufo, I am sorry I did not call you back in time to hang out. I fell into a collapsed heap in the early afternoon, and didn't wake for a bunch of hours. I am sorry things were so dull. I hope the weather was at least nice.

Oh, please, don't worry about that. It wasn't a complaint that things were dull, really - it was just a comment that the hivemeet was so great it made my day in the city rather boring in comparision, even though it was interesting. Smile I certainly wasn't implying that you should've dragged yourself out of bed. You needed the rest after all that. Smile

More Pictures! More Pictures! Aw, and I forgot I was missing Ozy too! Dude! I am so having Hivemeet 2006 at my house. We'll have the "Poop On!" exhibit in my bathroom (no cover charge!) and the um "Pogo the Chow" restaurant in my kitchenette, and we'll go see the "television theatre" perform 60 commercials in 30 minutes! We'll finish it up with a lunch with those sassy waiters with attitude. That's right! McDonalds! W00t! It'll be a blast, really! (Ok, so it won't, but we can still drink!? Dunno )

Ok, well I'm so glad to see the 1st initial inagural premiere numero uno Hivemeet was such a success. Again, it was a pleasure meeting fellow Firefly and superb gentleman Anton P. Nym, and I do hope that sometime we do something in Canadia so I can see you and Jamesi, and thebruce and all you Kawayzy Kanadians and have ourselves some fine spirited beverages and just plain hang out, talk and get all meta and serious and say "I love you man... no seriously. I love you, cuz you see what I see about ARGs, how they're just so... um, you know." And then you go "Totally." And we chug another, and um, I don't know... but that's why there must be a reunion tour of some sort, and it should be in Canada. (Seriously, ARGfest-O-Con Winter Games 2005-2006! I'm SO there!)

Glad to hear everyone got back safely (or at least to NOT hear of anyone getting back UNsafely...)

This sucks.. I don't know how to end this post. For real... I'm usually pretty good at this sort of thing, but for some reason...

Ok, well here goes... There was this time I was in a Perkins with some friends from College TM and they have this CB-radio type thing that you announce who's next in the waiting line and stuff... well one time I picked it up and I said "Hi." I couldn't think of anything else to say. I had grand dreams but all that came out was "Hi." Good story, eh? (I threw in that "eh" for the Canadians...) Um... Bye!

DM apologizes for the ramblings above (sort of... cuz it's kinda funny). But he was very tired, and needs sleep badly.

EDIT: after rereading (yeah, I'm that anal even when sleepy) I realized that in my little "colophon" there, that I used two different tenses of verbs in the same sentence. I regret nothing!

Hey, just thought I'd show up and say how much of a supremely awesome time I had. Honestly, you were all really awesome. Thanks for everything and for letting me become part of the group even though I never come here nor was I involved in ILB.

I mean that, too. Everybody was awesome.

i love some of Jim's names for us!

i guess i'm one of the "three guys with the same hair" as he thought dave and jinx looked alike, and i won the "most likely to look like Dasro award"

i'm glad that the Space Channel 5 pics came out too

Mehehehe, I'm so going to have to check out those galleries when I get home from work. I never really thought we all looked alike, but maybe we ARE clones.

BTW, what you can't see in that pic of me and jinxie playing DDR is my Extreme Craptacularity. Really.

Also, between Real Life, and getting sick (BLECH...but so worth it Smile) from all the excitement, I haven't had much time to upload my pictures to flickr. I don't have a ton of people, because a) my poor canon has a tough time with fast moving low light shots, and I hate the flash, and B)as jinxie said, I felt like others had that angle covered Smile. And they did. But I'm slowly getting my pics up on my flickr account (link's in the sig), and I have a set of only chicago pics that you can find at http://www.flickr.com/photos/dasro/sets/345442/ .

Such a great time...I still haven't been able to find the words to encapsulate what an incredible experience I had. All of you guys rock.

Yeah, i have to aplogize for quality of some of my pictures... Like Dasro, I'm not a big fan of pictures with flash, and so I tend to take mine without, even in poor lighting situations. Unfortunately this means there's a good chance they suck in low lighting, which, at night, there is.

Blah.

So yeah, sorry that a lot of my pictures are completely horrible.

I'm not a big fan of the built-in flash. I want to get a better flash, so I can bounce on the ceiling or something like that. One thing digital SLR's can do much better than compacts is to use High ISO (like 400 or 800) with very low noise! Now, if only I could have remembered to do that .... Smile

Yeah, I got sick too ... I wonder if it's a side effect from the hivemeet ... I'm only hoping I don't miss the SW session tomorrow. I got tickets already ...
