License Plates

Can someone tell me, in one particular state, aren't all license plates arranged the same way? Meaning, wouldn't they all have their numbers and letters in the same place(unless it's a personalized plate)?

In the last episode alone, we saw:
X9C135 - Jim's
255 387T - downtown are
468-D6W - Mary's

All NV, but none the same set-up or even similar (dashes/spaces, number/letter placement, and color, too.)

Just thought I'd ask this dumb question cause it's bugging me.

Actually, here in New Hampshire we have....hmmm....at least 5 different styles of plates that I can think of off the top of my head...we have 3 different backgrounds available and several series of numbers/letters combinations and layouts, like

123 456

12345

12 3456

So I'm not sure if it means anything, but I'm finding out EVERYTHING has meaning in Push, Nevada...

It's just a question if it's story or game related...

Good observation...

It seemd like there are a ton of license numbers floating around out there. WDM, Mary, Jim, toyota, Mary(again), etc, etc, etc.

I must be way behind because I haven't put them together for any reason yet. I'm sure they point to something... or not.
