or Dabuur, dabuur, dabuur =P

www

I kind of have a feeling that when we have the complete answers to all the puzzles it will create a phonetic sentence / paragraph which will be the ultimate clue to where the cube is.

*shrugs*

nothing but pure spec.. =)

Good solve! Obvious point this, I suppose, but we could at least narrow the field on where the likely answers to 3 and 7 are to be found:

7 is KJIC, right? What does 3 actually say (is it Start, Start, Start or something?).

We can at least vaguely deduce what systems the games concerned would have had to have been played on, I assume?

And what do the initial letters of the games identified add up to so far: MS_DS S_TWJ? Could that be another coding of sorts? It doesn't look like an obvious anagram, or something that would be easily translatable into a sum...

Correction

Actually, my #1 is a little spurious.

This code appears to be a bit of a cult, I'm not entirely clear where it has originated. I kinda sprung to the conclusion above based on the fact it was the most famous game I've heard of that I saw, but I think I'm wrong.

Anyway, the code is "up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right" and either "select" or "start". See if anyone else can come up with something more definite.

It's really close to "The Konami Code" which was the same but "B, A" before the "start". That code appears just about EVERYWHERE!

Also, in a random act of confusion, the other code appears to cross a few versions of the game I mentioned, not specifically that one..

Spoiler (Rollover to View):

1 Randomly selected K1 - The Arena Fighters
2 Street Fighter II

I am going on the assumption that #3 is "Select, Select, Select" and not "Start, Start, Start" because Google grudgingly coughed up an answer for the former but not the latter: Samurai Showdown

As for the Konami Code, I vaguely remember that being first linked to an old side-scrolling Nintendo game with a military-ish theme? Maybe I am wrong--I did not use the Nintendo for much more than Super Mario Brothers (which I was finally able to beat three years ago!)

The game was Contra. How can anyone forget Contra?

And while the code was featured in virtually every Konami game, I don't know anyone who doesn't call it "The Contra Code".

There were two of them:

Thirty Lives were Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, B, A

Infinite lives were Up, Down, Up, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, A, B, A, B, Select, Start

I don't know any male in about his mid to late-twenties who doesn't know one of those codes by heart. Go into a bar and ask any guy around that age "The Contra Code" and chances are he'll be able to tell you it.

Sim City, although I don't know why they wrote it three times. Writing it once gives you 10,000 and you can go up to 80,000 before a natural disaster occuers if you don't save and reload.

Agreed, Sim City it is. (did anyone ever manage to get the big statue of Mario when you built a huge city?! Shocked )

Also, No. 6. I'm not sure, but it looks loads like the level select cheat for Sonic the headgehog, this first one. Im might be wrong, anyone else?

Wasn't that up, down, left, right, A + Start?

(Not that I cheated! Embarassed)
