[SPEC] What happened next

It's pretty obvious, but here's my thinking.

Richard is going to be sent to a mental institute, and remain there for quite some time. Eric may or may not have the hand re-attached.

That makes sense from the newspaper clipping. The black spots seem to fit around Richard escaping from a cell in the institute.

We need to find out which institute, when, and why. We have a date now, 1896, when they were 18. Does that help fill in other blanks as well?

Obes.

I doubt that the hand could be re-attatched. And yeah, I guess he would be sent to an institute... Yep, that seems about right to me.

That sounds about right. Because Eric said that his dad was "sending Richard to a school". That just could be an institute. But Eric keeps saying "Richard didn't do it" and well, I'm not sure I believe him or not. It seems this "Tall Man" has something to do with Richard's behavour. I guess we'll have to wait and see.

I haven't included that date in the update of the clipping, simply because we don't know how long it was from the "incident" in 1896 until the "escape" and the tragedy that prompted the article.

I think Richard's school is just a school, mainly because it lets him out for Summer Vacation and I can't see a mental institute doing the same.

I'm wondering though if maybe it's Richard who dies first and Eric ends up being the one going mad and being put in the Institute. Or maybe he ends up there later, after being left alone with the Tall Man too long.

By the way, if the twins were 18 at the time of the incident and lived past that point, who was the child Layla saw?

That was still one of the twins i think, because in the chat eric said he was 9. So i guess as ghosts they are at that age.

Aaah, thank you. I've been wondering.

I can't make the chats due to my timezone, and I don't think anyone's posted the log for that one.

Okay, here's my wild spec that I just spewed out in the chat room...

The Tall Man is a vampire and/or the twins are related to Layla.

The book that flew off the wall? The Vampire Lestate? The twins might be trying to get that message across. Plus, in those books, vampires have some pretty trippy powers, like basically being able to control another (to a mild degree). So maybe the TM was controlling Richard like, oh I don't know, a puppet master? Smile

Also, I'm wondering if they're going to randomly use Layla's blood to compare the DNA to (for some unknown reason) and find that there's a enough of a similarity to determine a relationship there.

So yeah, I have pretty much nothing to back anything up with. I just like to wildly speculate. Once in a million years, you get a bullseye!

Resume reasonable, logical spec now. Very Happy

. . . So, depending on what mythologies you follow, the Tall Man needs Richard to be whole, or just either of the twins (if you follow some older beliefs that twins are two halves of one soul).

He's still around, though, so obviously he didn't get what he want.

And something bad is in the attic?

The twins seem to both be dead now, and the Tall Man needs a living half of a man, so who or what's he after?

If Eve was bore from a rib of Adam...

Perhaps the connect is that, as the rib was male, then the female is only part man?

OR... remember how husbands refer to their wives as 'their other half'....

If that's the case, perhaps The Tall Man has figured out he needs ...Layla!

Run Layla!

Obes.

PS.. am I being serious, or am I not? Who's to know?

This could be completly irrelevant, but the fact that Eric is technically the "sinister" twin might have something to do with it...

... or not. Just throwing crap out there. Embarassed
