Yerr, I'm pretty convinced this is OOG. How did you find it? Any link except to the "five of cups" reference in the futures? Entering the number found in the source into the form at the bottom of the page gives you a pop up saying "every living creature on this earth dies alone" which is a quote from donnie darko. And the number used, is the amount of time till donnie dies.
The whole thing seems like a mishmash of different ideas. There's this slightly off balance feel about the blog tho.
On a slightly seperate note: While I understand the need for pruning of the message boards to maintain constructive communication, I also feel that 'Group Think' is a significant problem. So a balance must be struck... And my opinion that the Mods are being a smidgen too zealous is but one amid the crowd

On another random note: the link to Ceretin sounds almost certain. Interesting that there are hints it may (increase?) life expectancy - we have every indication that many people in Perplex City live to a considerable age. Ruth Coralhouse dying at the age of 108 does not appear to have excited much comment, for instance, and the implication seems to be that she was perfectly in control of her faculties when she went. We've heard of another death in the Sentinel at the age of 91. Would Ceretin be able to reverse the effects of, say, Alzheimers??

In addition, I think the Five of Cups site is almost certainly OOG.

Certainly, in - game, the Five of Cups bar has been mentioned on a regular basis, but it's also a well - known Tarot reference, and I assume a site could be named after the Tarot card for some obscure reason.

I don't know where the Italian quotation is from (although I have a suspicion it might be Dante, or something similar - seems to be a lot of talk about 'dolorous cities' and the like). The picture is a highly disturbing one, and I have no idea what its meant to represent in the context of the site. But I recognise it.

Although I can't recall the photographer or any specific details, what we have here is a picture of a white lynch mob from the American South standing over the burning body of a black man, whom they've just hanged... It was taken, I think, in the late 30's/early 40's...

I find it hard to believe that a game of this sort would have any truck with integrating a puzzle relating to such reprehensible activities...

So, OOG it is then...

Understanding the Senescence Problem

As life expectancy continues on an upward trend in Perplex City due to improved healthcare, diets and lifestyles, neurodegenerative diseases and the normal processes of aging are accounting for an increasingly large proportion of medical problems. In this article, Dr. Thompson discusses the various ways in which we are attempting to understand and combat senescence.

Hmm. So Ceretin's producers are happy to use photographs as promotion tools, are they...whereas most other Perplexian media doesn't?

To be fair, I'm assuming that, in a way, promotion with photos is more likely in an OOG setting, because, after all, potential investors or whatever might think your product was less ritzy if you advertised it with line drawings.

But it's still kinda interesting, n'est pas?
