killzone 2? a halo 3 killer? I LAUGH!

I love how quickly ppl jump to conclusions. now, by now we've ALL seen the remarkable Killzone 2 trailer for the ps3, and if u haven't WATCH IT HERE: http://media.ps3.ign.com/media/748/748475/vid_1121807.html?mu=http%3A%2F%2Fstreamingmovies.ign.com%2Fps3%2Farticle%2F614%2F614854%2Fsonycon_games_06_killzone_wmvlow.wmv

now...it IS breathtaking. however,we have FAR too little info to say it is what everyone is making it to be. I'm not gonna be immature and say "which console is winning E3", because either way, we as gamers win. what i AM saying is that, well, frankly, G4tech doesn't know what they're talking about. if u've been watching the new E3 "live" coverage, u'll quickly be annoyed by it's female co-host, Morgan Webb, who QUICKLY said this was the "halo killer". moreover, AOTS host Kevin Pereira went so far as to say it was an XBOX 360 KILLER!! IT WAS DAY ONE OF THE CONFERENCE!!! Now that we're looking at day 3, we may have more concrete info on each system, but these so called "hardcore gamers" hosting the show are being a little too quick. and THEY are supposed to represent us as gamers? i laugh. I am not some "fanboy" as u call, but, am i the only one who wants ppl replaced on G4tech?

Killzone 1 was supposed to be the Halo 2 killer, was it not?

I haven't played Killzone, so I don't know how good or bad it is, but several months after the fact, I haven't heard anyone say a thing about Killzone, but I've heard plenty about Halo 2.

Yeah, I wouldn't go that far and make any claims about killzone being a halo killer or not. But the killzone video is pretty good! It looks like a true next-gen game and gets people excited! More than that, it gives some perspective to people of what next-gen games can be! And this video was created exactly for this purpose! So, I say they certainly succeded on this ...

I haven't played it myself, but judging from the reviews, it was underwhelming. Another thing to keep in mind: at the start of the Wednesday, 12PM video at www.gamespot.com/e3/e3live.html, one of the Gamespot guys mentions that someone asked one of the Killzone developers whether the video was done in real-time, and the response was along the lines of "It was a representation of what they wanted the game to be like". Which is pretty much saying that there was no actual gameplay or real-time rendering going on in the movie.

I played Killzone in one of the electronic shops once... pretty cool except for one thing: You can't jump or climb over obstacles! That made it pretty stupid and restrictive. Maybe if they fix that for KZ2 they'll get more of a following.

...I thought there was an action button that let you climb over obstacles?

well i think Gears of War is the Killzone 2 killer!

whenever i see a claim about a game for a system that is yet to be released, i'm reminded of this:
http://www.penny-arcade.com/view.php3?date=2001-02-12&res=l
(keep in mind, the gamecube wasn't even released at that point)
