[INFO] RT Character Profiles/Puzzle Patterns

Just an insight into the puzzle-posting characteristics of the various NPCs.

Morgan:
Astute observer. knows lots of things, and has contacts in various circles. Writes scientifically.

Layla:
Scared young woman living in a haunted house. Writes stably, But a little "typical American female age 18-25".

Eric:
Half of the Twincest pair. General all around good kid boy scout of the 18th century. interest in the occult stemming from a want to Save his Brother from the Tall Man. Writes almost entirely Code, utilising various common Cryptography methods.

Richard:
Other Half of the Twincest Pair. Impressionable teen, Victim of the Tall Man, Alchoholic and also (possibly) Homosexual. Writes in plain text, but with verious spelling Mistakes. Typo King. Jichard is a Rerk.

The Tall Man (AKA Xazlael):
Dark Mysterious Demon, also known as Xazlael.
Is really sexy in that hat of his. Quotes Robert Frost a lot.

I was under the impression that all the puzzles were being written by Erik, mainly because I can't see the motivation for J-ayla to hide information from us and our tragically gothic gentlemen to tell us anything.

On the other hand, I do so love the image of Xazlael quoting poetry.

Nice idea, Muskie. Heh, your descriptions made me laugh. Only a few suggestions... Layla isn't a teenager, she's either... 20 or 21, I think. The rest of her description is dead on, though. Smile Teenager just sounds like she's ~16... well, to me anyway. I dunno. And the only other thing is that when you say Eric is interested in the occult, his interest springs from the fact that he wants to save Richard from the Tall Man. It just makes it sound like he was interested anyway, just a little misleading...

Just some thoughts.
~Mossy the Strange One

PS- Wanna mention the fact that the Tall Man has one hell of a sexy hat? Just kidding. Wink

Oooh, so do I. A dark, mysterious figure, hat turned down, at the edge of the wood... twilight... Leaning against a tree, a book open in his hand. And... he quotes Frost.

*swoons*
~Mossy... who is REALLY a freak!

You all do realize that he's a demon from hell, right? That his idea of showing a girl a good time probably involves a tour of the rooms where souls are eternally tortured... followed by a dinner of carrion from some battle.

Heh, I mean if you like that kind of stuff, don't let me tell you what to do... just thought I'd point it out and ruin all your fun.

Due to the brilliance of Muskie, I strongly second that!
~Mossy, currently wondering what other poetry the Tall Man likes

Aww, paradoxic... it isn't his fault that he's a demon from hell! And I mean look, he's only half demon, kinda. I mean, he must have a softer side... His... poetic side, clearly. And honestly, how many times would we end up touring the torture chambers anyway? I mean, you've seen one, you've seen 'em all, eh? I rather like to think of us in the cemetery, quoting Frost and Byron and Poe back at each other until he has to go back to fulfilling the minimum number of souls he has to claim per month.

Besides, why would he want to eat carrion? I see that as more of a food for minions. (Yeah, I know he's not exactly the Devil himself or anything, nor a prince, but... he's not exactly a screaming little goblin creature, either.) I mean, badly buchered bodies? You can hardly make a decent meal out of that. Logically, wouldn't he dine on some sort of odd fruits of temptation? (Think Goblin Market by Christina Rosetti.) Wouldn't he drink some heady wine? He seems to me a very... classy, elegant fellow. What's the word...? It isn't coming to me right now. Grabbin' some dead guys off'a the field and shovin' 'em down his throat in tha corner... Not his style, I think.

Just some thoughts... really, worrying how many.
~Mossy, in the Tall Man's hat

EDIT: And the brilliance of Paradoxic, I'm having a hard time keeping from laughing aloud right now

I dunno, don't forget who his dad was... not exactly fine dining etiquette coming from that one. Not so much fruit of temptation as the decaying bodies slaughtered in battle... a small distinction, true, but an important one. But, hey, whatever suits your armor!

PS- you sure? Carrion? I dunno... it just doesn't seem to fit him. And, tastes aren't inherited. Well. Not always.
